We were here on May 20 and 21. The showers and toilets (excellent) were open when we arrived, the power poles were working, we called the number that was mentioned and in the evening that person came and paid € 18 per night. The center can be reached on foot, the bus was not possible for us because of the dog. Waste water and toilet okay. Downside is indeed the busy road.

We have been here for two nights and is a perfect place to visit Matera. On foot it is 40 to the old center. A five minute walk takes you bus 4 or 12 which will take you to the bus station from where a few minutes walk to the upper or lower city. We paid € 18 per night. Only downside, there is a busy road, but it is fairly quiet between 10 p.m. and 7 p.m.
