Lago di Braies P4

Great parking spot for an overnight stay near the lake! We also arrived just after 4:00 PM and were able to drive straight through to this last parking spot right on the lake. It's a bit pricey, though: €20 if you stay less than 3 hours, which is more than enough if you just want to visit the lake or walk around it. Stay longer than 3 hours, and the fee automatically increases to €45 for 24 hours. Note: if you arrive after 6:00 PM, the parking attendants will be gone, and the height restriction will take effect.

It's highly recommended to arrive after 4 p.m., when the road opens. Staff are there until 6:30 p.m., after which the height restriction takes effect. There are no facilities, but definitely worth a visit! We stayed overnight, which allowed us to be at the lake just after sunrise (6 a.m.). That's when the lake is at its most beautiful! There are no boats until 8 p.m., so the water is beautiful and still wonderfully calm. Fantastic!

P4 is guarded and, as mentioned above, likely very expensive. Even after closing time, P3 is accessible provided you're at least 2.2 meters tall, and parking attendants are available until 6 PM. We bought a ticket online for the next day, allowing us to enter the park between 9 AM and 4 PM. Parking attendants check on exit and even before. Very quiet at night, and there are more overnight guests. We walked a beautiful loop around the lake, especially early in the morning, which is quiet. The restroom at the restaurant was locked.
