Camping Boschetto di Piemma

Priam campsite has excellent facilities that are kept spotlessly clean. A good base for hiking around San Gimignano. You can easily walk or cycle into town, and if that's too much trouble, the bus stops right outside. The pitches are perfect for our 7.5-meter campervan. There's also plenty of shade in the summer. Dog-friendly and plenty of opportunities for walking.

We don't understand the bad reviews. We didn't see any ants, and we actually think the place is absolutely fantastic. We were able to choose our own pitch, and the sanitary facilities are perhaps a bit dated, but they are neat and clean. The swimming pool is within walking distance of the campsite. There's a restaurant and small shop on site, and fresh bread rolls are available in the morning. It was a great location for us. We went on a four-day bike tour and were able to park the campervan behind lockable parking for 3 euros per night. It was fantastic.

Poor campsite. Everywhere is full of ants, including the electrical boxes and plumbing. Cramped campervan pitches, and tent pitches are full of rocks. For one night with a 4x4, which I also slept in, I paid €32, which is quite a lot for what you get.
