I was in the square for one night in mid-August, just in time for sunset. The next day I climbed the local mountain to the observatory. (There is no hiking trail there). Nice view from the top. I picked a mug full of cloudberries there. The night with electricity cost € 30. Elsewhere I found it a lot cheaper. There was a temporary waitress in the restaurant who seemed overwhelmed to cook for some guests, so I refrained from ordering. There is no reception, someday someone will cash in. On the west side you can go on a coastal hike to the south. They were just about to improve the partially muddy path with sturdy, thick boards. If you follow the path, you will first come to a small, beautiful sandy bay. There is a floating jetty to the pitch, so you could bring a boat for fishing. the harbor is very sheltered and the water around the northern tip of the island seems very suitable for fishing. There is deep water to the east and shallow depths to the west. Above all, you can always go to the slipstream side of the island in east or west winds. There are Rorbu huts a few hundred meters from the parking space. There you can also rent a fishing boat with 150 HP outboard motor when it is free. The phone number of the boat rental company can be found at the Rurbuhütten. However, a boat license for engines (as far as I know over 30 HP) is required in Norway. Between the restaurant building, where the toilet and shower can also be found, and another building, which is 10 m away, there is a waste container, around which it looked very dirty (paper and other rubbish lay around). One possibility There was also emptying the on-board toilet, if I saw correctly.
