Parking Ontaneda

Beautiful place to cycle the Via Verde, you can empty and refill water there, there is electricity—what more could you want? A supermarket nearby and even a swimming pool, but that was closed when we were there.

We are staying here for the second time. Great campsite with all the amenities, and all for €7. The beautiful Via Verda cycle route starts from the campsite and runs for a length of 36 km. On weekends it gets busy with Spaniards, but it is pleasant.

stayed for one night on the way back to Santander and took the route through mountains from the south. not for the faint hearted and beware of your brakes and clutch on this route if you haven’t take a break and let your van cool before carrying on! was easy to work out how to get in. mid October there were only about 8 spaces in use so no problem with availability. excellent value for €7 and felt safe.
