Camping Monfrague

A friendly welcome. We were able to choose our own pitch. We had a pitch with trees and that was reasonably flat. The sanitary facilities are good and plentiful. A great base for visiting the national park. We booked a tour at the campsite. With guide Valatin, you get an excellent tour with various stops, see many vultures, and receive explanations about the park and the vegetation.

I find this a dreary campsite, arid and dry, crooked ugly spots, you can barely get your camper level, the sanitary facilities were old but fortunately clean, regulars who make a messy mess of it. I wouldn't go here again. Very deserted during the week, probably more lively on the weekend, no idea.

Great campsite. Good showers, good pitches. Perhaps the best thing is that you can easily book a guided tour into the nearby bird park. It is pricey (45 guilders per person or 150 guilders for a private tour) but it is worth it. Our guide Valentine knew his stuff and knew the best spots to find for viewing all kinds of vultures. Plus, he had a huge pair of binoculars with him. Highly recommended.
