Simplonpas

Overnight stays are permitted throughout the Simplon Pass. Several good spots are available. Most are located from the summit to about 2 km towards Italy. A tourist tax of 2 CHF per person is required per overnight stay. You can pay this by scanning a QR code found on signs at the various spots. When paying, please include your license plate number. If you haven't paid, you may be woken up by someone from the local tourist office.

A truly fantastic place! You can take beautiful walks and swim in a small lake. The most beautiful spots are behind the Monte Leone Hotel (which has a round roof). You drive onto a road with a sign that says no cars. The photos show a map with the road highlighted in yellow.

behind hotel Bellevue we had a nice spot against the snow wall. Enjoying the snowy mountains in May, who wouldn't want that. Register and pay via qr code. Toilet is cleaned every morning.
