Whitsand Bay Fort

The website promises a lot, but it is disappointing. The employees are friendly and helpful. Upon arrival I asked if there was room, after an exhaustive search it turned out there was still a room, afterwards there were 4 campers/caravans on a spot for at least 20. The toilet/shower facilities are a kilometer walk from your pitch and there are only 2 toilets and 2 showers for the entire campsite, but they are quite tidy. we paid €45, this is not worth it

just to say the other reviews are out of date. pool refurbishment completed with excellent changing facilities, pitches face several directions but inland view is to far off Dartmoor.. not bad at all. secure and camera monitored. pool and site open all year. Not cheap. Recent change means no parking on verge at all on Military Road on way in inspite of what other APPS say

There are a small number of pitches with great views, the rest are between 2 ramparts. Now full of construction work for renovation of the swimming pool and related areas. But £40 a night is a very hefty price.
