Don't bother, there are no facilities, it's just the council trying to make a quick buck. there may be parking in Morrisons after 6pm. I don't know how the other reviewer managed to cycle through the tunnel to Liverpool, definitely no push bikes allowed but both ferries are now open. Also a good rail service to Liverpool that runs until Midnight.

December 2022 June 2022 just free parking in the street, nice and quiet and great environment both for beach fun and visiting the city. at the moment the first ferry is not used and you have to cycle 2 km further to Woodside ferry. like me you can also cycle through the queensway tunnel. that's just as far.
