Just looked and made a photo. Indeed messy asphalt strip but I would not feel unsafe there. Was another camper.

A messy piece of asphalt next to the road. Well nice view but not worth the name of the camping site. No suitable place to spend the night.

parking on the A89 to the north of Machrihanish Bay - no facilities but a nice sea view - even though you close to the road you do not bother as there is hardly any traffic in the evening / night - Machrihanish 16,5km - center 10km
