parking area alongside river and road. Poor Nesbyen hit by floods in early August 23 and still recovering so shops across the road out of service for our stop. Please park up near building end to leave room for long trucks to sleep the night. A little road noise but not a problem. Nice free stop over. Will be better when shops back up and running.

Nice place to stay but popular by day. Fantastic view over water, a bit tight for parking with spots for 6 campers. picnic tables, Nice toilets and a big rubbish bin. need wheel ramps for the front. Traffic goes quiet at night.

we parked across the road (13 campers) and freecamped because the prices being charged by the local camping parks is outrageous!! If they get real on their prices by lowering them, maybe we will fill their parks again. No signs saying you can’t ‘rest’. Now the parking lot has a fantastic view, dump point across the road at ESSO 20nok, fast food van behind shop, the best SPAR supermarket with a huge craft shop downstairs to keep the wife happy.

Friday and Saturday nights r noisy from the boy racers doing bog laps. Confusing as signage says about paying and has a meter asking for 50k per hour yet this site says 0.00k then tells us overnight stays are forbidden??? Well us and other campers stayed and didn’t pay and so far no problem. Good location for town but very average for everything else. not complaining, it is free (apparently?)

what a lovely free camp. waterfront flat gravel parking in front of a beautiful large Lake. has table and chairs, flowers, 2 tripod fire pits, rubbish bins. Shops across the road. walking paths. love it here. Be sure to spend some money in the town to say -Thank you Hornindal. 😁

We stayed for one night on this parking place as did one other camper. Nobody kicked us out -but it was raining continuously. Leave no rubbish, make no disturbance, lots of empty parking overnight but has sports people using the complex during the day up to 10pm. Still lots of empty parking. A nice camping spot. Kiwi Shop across the quiet road. You give it a try and leave a review if we are ‘really not allowed’ as it could be ok??

really nice guys that run the place. very friendly. the parking was tightly packed and they squeeze in as many as possible. I don’t mind that but they need to multiply number of toilets for that many people. Great location on the Lake Ammersee. close walk into town with restaurants, coffee shops, bakeries and little bars to drink at on the beach line. A ferry that goes to little towns along the lake. Hire boats are fun too. highly recommend😁

we arrived to find a circus set upon the land (but closed for now). A organised big skate board competition with big speakers and lots of cars parked everywhere and all over the camping pitch. can’t use grey water dump pad because of circus. can’t use the toilets In morning because locked and no keys to be found etc. BUT it IS a beautiful spot with small lake and river and parks. Great little beach bar that was full but quiet next door.

if I could give it six stars, I would :-) what a magnificent place to stay. Admittedly popular for day trippers on the weekends in summer. There would have to be at least 20+ places to park your RV. Several places around the lake to choose from. Swimming is refreshing with even a couple little shops, selling drinks and a little bit of fast-food but not necessities so bring what you need for an extended stay. Just beautiful. €18/night 2 ppl

we stayed 2 nights and it was pretty bad. an old shed had 2 toilets of which one toilet broken and NO TOILET PAPER supplied. A mixed shower room with no privacy. 3 showers with dirty shower curtains. No shade at all unlike in the above picture. it’s really a long term parking lot for locals campers and trucks. The camping spots are out the back on stones and crammed together. €30 way tooo much. Find a nicer park and bus or train it into see Milan

what a breath of fresh air. best park in Europe so far for us travelling Australians. pool, restaurant, bar, lots of shady trees, all services, lovely staff, clean facilities, private pitches and all for what we thought a good price. €28.50 off peak & €35 peak. worth every cent at last 😁
