parking permanently closed to campers

This camper area has not been in operation for a few years. The sign says it is closed for maintenance work that was supposed to end in 2023. Today it remains a construction site but no one works there. Too bad, Varzi is a nice place and it is cool even in summer, on days like this where in northern Italy temperatures are 36 degrees.

Newly managed camper park. Very friendly and helpful manager. Being a car park, it cannot have toilets, but for the camper service there is everything you need (loading clear, unloading gray and black). Very touristic center 10 minutes on foot entirely on a cycle/pedestrian path after crossing the characteristic dancer bridge. Excellent alternative to the nearby municipal parking.

Parking reserved for motorhomes supervised and manned during access times. Very courteous managers provide maps and details for visiting Bergamo Alta, which can be reached on foot via demanding stairways or with the more comfortable and faster funicular. Try the "il Circolino" restaurant for its excellent cuisine and to help the association that manages it which, with the profits, carries out projects of a social-welfare, educational and cultural nature

Easily accessible even if isolated (it can be reached directly from the main paved road). In August with the suffocating temperatures of this year (2023) the temperature is pleasant despite the only 600m of altitude. An extra shirt may be needed in the evening. Quiet and peaceful, it is ideal for those seeking peace and relaxation. Reservations not required but recommended. Definitely coming back, even in another season.
