Quiet, beautiful surroundings, lovely for cycling. Another review says there is little to do in the area, but we absolutely disagree! There are many walking and cycling areas nearby. Drachten, Surhuisterveen, and several other nice towns to visit. Within about a fifteen-minute bike ride is a very nice rest stop called Het Bakhûs. You can enjoy a nice (cheap) coffee and buy a few things to take with you! Very tasty!
