Thanks Tubbergen! Two campervans fit in the 2 official spots under the trees. One semi-integrated motorhome recently took up 1.5 spots. The spot at the back left is a great solution for a couple of (larger) campers; this seems to be accepted. It is busy in the evenings and on weekends and full of athletes. The village has all amenities within walking distance and is quite pleasant. The Springendal is a must!

This campsite has many good things: the view, helpful owners, the surroundings… but ‘Campervan Site of the Year ‘25’? Many campsites are nicer, and you’ll find more pleasant prices here too. Furthermore: upon arrival, I asked if solo travelers (unfairly) have to pay tourist tax twice, to which the lady reacted very irritably. That was very unpleasant. The tax goes to the municipality, and I am not taking the bread out of the owners’ mouths, but I felt as if I were being accused of doing so.

We would love to stand here, although we find the price quite steep by now after all the increases! However, we are not coming because we understand that the payment system is not good/easy, and you need a Visa; very unusual. A real shame. Perhaps they could consider allowing payment at the pool (again?) in exceptional cases.

Owners are very fanatical about waste separation. Fine, but they expect you to have 6 garbage bags in your camper. Even separating coffee and tea from organic waste. Residual waste + plastic goes to the shop, although they hope you bring it with you! THIS happened to us: it was taken in and CHECKED CAREFULLY ON THE SPOT! Yes, sanitary pad packaging and all! They are terrified of the costs of the waste. ABSURD! Right near the VAM waste dump… We were embarrassed and stunned.

Grateful for the spot! Shade on the left in the morning, on the right in the afternoon. Staff at Hof van de Koning (Lotte?) very friendly. Last night at 11:30 PM, loud banging against the camper by hooligans who disappeared through the back. Intense! During the day, campervans can park for free on Abe Lenstra Blvd, within walking distance of the city center. (not very interesting)

Nicely offered spot! Safe. Regarding accessibility, they write via email: ‘You can arrive during the swimming pool opening hours. That is Monday to Friday from 9:00 AM to 8:15 PM. Friday and Saturday from 1:00 PM to 5:00 PM, and until 4:00 PM in bad weather. When a camper is parked, the gate will be closed, but not locked in the evening.’ Also read about camper pitches on www.wettervlecke.nl Tel. 0512-361507 Swimming ticket: €4.50 You're welcome ;-)

Sad, charging €10 for a parking spot! Unwelcoming, rip-off, here in Friesland too. Only charge tourist tax and a fee for facilities in the marina. Beautiful village.

It’s always great to stay here, but this time…. A notorious long-stayer caused a huge commotion about other long-stayers taking ‘his’ regular spot; it was awful. That’s how you put this place in danger! We heard that the municipality had taken photos of campers for long-staying! Action will probably be taken. So, as Gerrit shouted: let others have a spot too! Max. 3 nights.
