With 2 showers I would have given 5 stars. Large pitches. Grass strip by the river with play equipment and little water. Clean, tidy, lots of flowers. Large playground and small pool with sun loungers. Cabins that look neat. Neat, fully equipped kitchen. Showers included, very nice. Railway line on the other side of the river, only passes a few times. Construction work there too. You can hear this on the left side of the campsite. Quiet after 5 pm. Didn't hear a train at night. Construction noise at 7 am.

Nok 400 without electricity. The toilet block is super clean, modern, and practical. A pitch for mobile homes. In view of the toilet block and the waste containers diagonally behind it. However, practically everyone took their waste away by car and went to the toilet by car. Additionally, there was the constant noise of an excavator a short distance away. After complaining about the excavator, it stopped immediately. Our reason for leaving after 1 night.

Stayed from July 21 to 22, 2026. Large terraced campsite, without marked pitches (meaning there is often still space available) and everything mixed together. Friendly welcome, choose your own spot. Despite being 98% full, it was incredibly quiet last night. Beautiful view of the lake with the mountains and 2 waterfalls. In the village, a few hundred meters from the campsite, there is a large sign with two cycling routes and many walks. From 1.5 to approx. 15 km.

Spotlessly clean toilets with waste bins. Waste bins in the parking lot as well. Campers are parked by the water. Trucks are on the roadside. On July 7 and 8, 2026, all campers, caravans, and trucks were weighed. Quite a few water tanks emptied. Beautiful view over the water and the Hardanger Bridge. At midnight, a camper arrived that made a lot of noise, and there was a lot of truck traffic at night. It was quite restless. Between 1 and 6, it wasn't too bad.

June 23-24, 2026. Great combination parking area. For both cars and campers. No trash cans (locked). There is a toilet about 200m through the woods to the lake, where there is also a beautiful large grassy area with benches. We stayed there with 4 other campers. There are a number of commuter cars parked there, and a bus stop at the turnoff to the parking lot. Very quiet; we were not bothered by traffic. There is a small hill with picnic tables, a BBQ, and a fire pit including wood.

Facilities are well organized. Beautiful view. Two platforms and staggered relative to each other, so everyone has the view. Play area for children. Excellent Wi-Fi! Very beautiful surroundings. Many hikers and cyclists at the campsite. NOK 340 camper, 2 people without electricity on 16-06-2026.

What a place! In the sun on 15-6-2026. On a large snow-white beach. At the edge with a sea view. Large fields, you can pitch wherever you want, provided there is 4 meters of space. NOK 300 without and NOK 400 with electricity. Emptying the cassette toilet and taking on water costs only NOK 40 per transaction for transient visitors. There is a relaxed atmosphere. Very friendly welcome. Whale cruises possible here 3-4 times a day. Kitchen, 2 clothes drying racks. Toilets clean. Is the shower supposed to be cold with heavy use?

A wonderful stay from 14-15-06-2026. Campsite (motorhomes, caravans, and tents) approx. half full. Two showers (1 disabled), 4 toilets. Outside, 1 washing-up area with super hot water. It was often occupied, but you can also get water and wash at one of the picnic tables or at your own spot. The Hurtigruten passes by twice a day. Surrounded by mountains, on two sides by the water. Tides are visible. No Wi-Fi. Tip for the owner: give the waste container a better location.

Nice campervan site with a magnificent view. All 20 pitches, with wooden decking next to them, were occupied at 4:30 PM on June 13, 2026. Two rows; the front one has a direct sea view but is also exposed to the wind (it is blowing hard today; at pitch 1 at the front near the entrance, the wind is yanking at the camper). WiFi is not working for us. It is a pity there is no toilet. Price incl. electricity NOK 400 or € 30. In an envelope in the mailbox by the barrier or at the back of the site. Photogenic Hamnoy is within walking distance.

Free. Vardo is accessible via a long tunnel with wide lanes, nearly 3 km long and 88 m deep. Campsite with a minimum of 10 pitches on a flat, paved surface. Birdwatching hide, trash can, and picnic tables. No toilets. Emptying cassette toilets, water intake, and toilet facilities are located at a small harbor approx. 800 m away. Beautiful view. Approx. 1 km to the center (one long street). Many dilapidated buildings, and a few shops remaining. The fortress is interesting. Watch out for the seagulls nesting everywhere.

Great spot if you are self-sufficient. Optionally, there is a wooden toilet cubicle about 50m away on the beach towards the seagull cliff (no toilet paper). Visited the kittiwakes currently nesting there; beautiful to see. Also walked on the cliff; nice view. Walks between 900m and 7km across the island of Ekkeroy. Stunning views. Very quiet. Used as a starting point for a visit to Vardo.

From June 6 to 7, 2026. Perfect if you arrive from the North Cape after midnight and want to sleep quickly. At 6.2 km, free, on asphalt; super quiet despite being full. Trash can. No other amenities. Now that you are no longer allowed to stay at the North Cape after 1 am, this is the best option if you do not need a toilet or electricity.

After the bridge, this is, in our opinion, the first decent stopping place. We stayed overnight immediately. Toilet (included) and shower (paid) spacious and clean. Located by a small harbor. Nice bathhouse with a cozy seating area and BBQ. Register with a debit card at the yellow machine by the shop door (enter PIN + enter). The door can then be opened. Then pay inside at the machine (opposite the door). Camper, 2 people, electric Nkr 250. Shower p.p. Nkr 25. Emptying cassette toilet Nkr 50. Grey water free. Gravel. Quiet.

Two stars for the beautiful view. One toilet and one shower each for ladies and gentlemen. The price for one camper, two people, without electricity and without a shower is Nkr 350. The access road is very narrow and full of potholes. In our opinion, what is offered is not worth the price.

If you want electricity, you are situated between the very quiet road and the reception. Just as expensive is a spot without electricity on the super-large field by the beautiful little harbor. View of snow-capped mountain peaks. Toilet block with a complete kitchen (large oven, dishwasher, large fridge, dining area, washing-up facilities, stove). From June 8 to 9, 2026, there were three campers on the large field. Was allowed to choose my own spot. Navigation wanted to send us into the Voetgzangerstunnel, attention (-:

Nkr 390 / € 36.52 for the second-to-last pitch on a rectangular gravel site with 14 extra pitches. According to staff, you need to reserve starting in May. The toilet, shower, and kitchen with 4 washing-up and cooking areas are too small when full. No electricity or Wi-Fi. The center is a 45-minute walk. The entire town is uphill and downhill. The wooden church is open from 10 am to 4 pm. Many terraces and shops. Beautiful and ugly buildings alternate. Free map at reception.

Large campsite where many campers can park. We were glad we parked on the other side of the bridge; you have a view of each other. Because from June 5 to 6, 2026, there was loud music coming from a white party tent standing in a corner of the campsite. If there is no music, this is a great spot.

Great campsite. Empty toilet and grey water, waste container. Beautiful view over the Vardangerfjord and the village. Supermarket across the bridge within walking distance. We were not bothered by traffic or the bridge. Can accommodate up to 8 campers. Was full last night, June 5 to 6, 2026.

Arrived here on 01-06-2026. Completely empty. It didn't feel comfortable for us, so we drove off. Note that there are very few overnight options towards the Arctic Circle.
