During our 8-week road trip through Spain and Portugal, we stayed at 25 different locations, and this was the most beautiful! A small campsite with the beautiful name Refugio El Pajar. What a view, what tranquility, what a paradise!

The reception area still looked reasonably civilized, but the campsite itself was a disaster. By 4:30 PM, the peace and quiet was gone, and several vans of foreign workers living on the campsite brought me to dilapidated caravans and cottages. Under our awning were a few chickens eager to get into the camper, and behind us in two tents were a few very noisy French people whom I had to quell at 2:00 AM with a few strong Dutch curses.

What a nice place! Earlier that day our camper was broken into in Figueres, so stress.. We looked for a place for the night and found it at this CP. It is run very enthusiastically by the Dutch Karel and his son Sem. They were very understanding and helpful and that felt like a warm 'homecoming'. Because our TomTom was stolen, Karel gave us his old one! For only โฌ9.50 you can park on a paved road with a power connection; recommended!
