40 touring places on a large "static caravan" park, with on site a shop, entertainment, swimming pool, playground etc. Typical family location, with quite a bit of noise. Sanitary facilities dated and not very well maintained. Private access to the beach, with transport if it's steep. Considering the price (£41 incl. electricity), it is only recommended if you really want to go to sea.

Great place to stay for a night. Simple but adequate sanitary facilities, warm welcome!

Wheatsheaf Caravan and Camping Park does offer a grass pitch, water supply, electricity, basic but clean toilets and showers, limited laundry facilities, but certainly no swimming pool, playground, security, lighted area and no small shop. It is a small campsite with static chalets, 10 camper pitches and a camping field at a pub/restaurant, with WiFi in the restaurant.

The campsite is beautifully situated, but is a real tent campsite and can only accommodate small bus campers (max. VW van, according to the owner). Unfortunately, larger campers, such as ours, cannot be accommodated there. The access road from Low-Lorton (B5289) is narrow (sometimes only about 2.30m) and after Buttermere < 1.95m. Site has no electricity. So no experience for the rest.

The description in campercontact is misleading. Beautiful location on the banks of Coniston Water in the grounds of the former Coniston Manor. The welcome is friendly. Facilities simple, no fixed places, a number of large fields, no fixed places, also a number of groups. No electricity, and basic sanitary facilities - clean but simple, shower 50p. No swimming pool, playground, illuminated area, WiFi, security, ... etc. However, it is expensive at £30.
