We registered and paid for one night (โฌ18) at Camping Urban Gardens in Ypres. Our license plate was registered there, so the barrier at Camperplaats Zillebeke Vijver immediately went up when we arrived. It was a 30-minute walk to the Mennepoort, where the "Last Post" takes place every day at 8 p.m. We were there on Saturday evening, standing under the gate at 7 p.m. to get a good view; it was very busy. A beautiful tribute. Ypres is a beautiful, old town.

Great free camper spot within walking distance of the market square and the citadel (entrance fee โฌ7.50 per person). Quiet, slept well, emptied the grey water the next morning, and set off again.

Lovely farm campsite with campervan pitches nestled among apple trees. A very friendly owner who speaks good English. Free guided tours and tastings are offered twice a week on the grounds, focusing on making juice, cider, calvados, and other products and beers. The toilet and shower facilities are very basic (no toilet seat or toilet paper), and you have to hold down a button to shower; nice and warm, though. Omaha Beach is within cycling distance, while Pointe du Hoc and Gold Beach are a bit further away. โฌ15 per night
