★★★★★ Six stars, really! A beautiful place steeped in history – Napoleon and his wife Marie-Louise stopped here as early as May 9, 1812. (woerners-schloss.de) We were absolutely thrilled: a stunningly beautiful campsite with a magnificent view, very friendly hosts, and a fantastic menu. The food was a true delight, as was the excellent wine. You should definitely reserve your campsite in advance. And if you're looking for a place to stay...

Unfortunately, not a proper campervan pitch. We've been traveling by campervan for many years and would like to share our experience fairly but honestly. We were traveling with our 91-year-old mother. Since she needs a single room, a campervan pitch was a prerequisite for our booking. Therefore, we specifically called the day before and asked if a pitch was available. This was confirmed. We also asked if it was...

We had a fantastic spot right on the Saar River. We've rarely had such a beautiful view. Many pitches are reserved in advance. What's not so good, and really needs to be changed, are the toilet and shower times. From 10:15 am to 12:00 pm, you can't shower or use the toilets (because of cleaning!). But you have to go when you have to, and that doesn't work on command. As a result, everyone goes to the toilet and shower at the same time, which leads to unnecessary stress.

The campsite is great; it's wonderful that you can cycle or walk all the way around the lake. It's a shame that the sanitary facilities are very outdated and not very pleasant. They're okay, though. Apparently, new ones are currently being built. Someone comes around in the late afternoon to collect the fees.

The location is good. There's a bit of traffic in the background, but it's okay for one night. The town is easily accessible. The sanitary facilities are new and clean. What we find questionable is why more and more people are allowed to camp on a designated motorhome pitch.

The campsite is well located, and the town of Chablis is easily accessible. Unfortunately, many restaurants were closed or closed early in the evening. Everything you need is available on-site. However, the sanitary facilities at many of the campervan pitches are not very clean; there are cobwebs hanging down. It's advisable to bring your own toilet paper and soap.
Sitecode: 103626
Everything you need is there. The sanitary facilities are clean, check-in is straightforward, and you can pre-order croissants and baguettes. The grounds are spacious, and you can choose between sunny and shady spots. There are excellent walking opportunities nearby, and it's ideal for cycling. If you like, you can also order pizza.
Sitecode: 45811
It's okay for one night. But the lack of sanitary facilities on such a large site is a shame. On the plus side, you can easily walk into town along the promenade.

Beautiful campsite. The reception was very friendly and the site is highly recommended. The pool was packed due to the very hot weather, which is understandable 🔥. The restaurant is right next door. The only downside is the signage to the pitches. While you do get a map, it's easy to get lost if you're there for the first time. The wooden bridge is also a bit of a challenge with a campervan, but it's not a big deal.

Nice owners. Friendly even when things get hectic. The sanitary facilities are good, and you can do your laundry for a €5 token. There are plenty of trees, providing shade. We were even able to take our pre-ordered food to our pitch.

Sitecode: 77768
Quiet location and easy check-in. You receive a card for entry and exit, as well as for the sanitary facilities. These appear to be new and are in good working order. There are two showers. You can also wash dishes there. There are plenty of shaded pitches.

There are no toilets. I don't know where they've gone. It's just a parking lot. The view is nice. But when you walk the dogs, you see where the toilets are; the woods and field paths are all littered with people's messes. Absolutely disgusting!

Sitecode: 60082
Focused solely on mass tourism. No water or waste disposal facilities. The restaurant/crêperie is quite good. But it's more about: it'll be gone in no time.
Sitecode: 158156
A very nice spot. The owner is friendly, and a good breakfast is available as an add-on. Unfortunately, there are no waste disposal or sanitary facilities. A good restaurant is located in the château 500 meters away.

The campsite is located near a roundabout, but is still quite quiet and nicely laid out. However, not every pitch has electricity. This should be sorted out if you're paying the same price without electricity, right?
Sitecode: 100876
It's free, and you can make a donation. Electricity is available, but it's only for greywater disposal. The toilets are a disaster and filthy. They should charge fees and invest in better facilities. Unfortunately, what costs nothing is often worth nothing.
Sitecode: 86544
No water, even though there supposedly is some. The location is actually fine. The check-in process could be a bit more modern and straightforward. The electricity is switched off at 9:30 AM (regardless of when you check in)!
Sitecode: 19330
Good location, ideal for cycling and walking dogs. However, there's no electricity. Instead of charging just €10, they should charge €15 and include electricity. Many pitches still don't seem to be fully understood. This means that motorhomes staying for 1-2 nights could easily use the sanitary facilities. I saw them, and they're okay, but very old and outdated. A shame.
Sitecode: 104454
The campsite is spacious. It's next to an outdoor swimming pool. It would be great to have access for campers for an extra charge 😃. Yes, check-in is a bit complicated. Please check in directly at the machines by the sanitary facilities, using your selected pitch number. Check-in at the pitch itself isn't possible! The sanitary facilities are clean, and you'll have access with a code.

Everything is great here. It's quite centrally located, about 1.5 km from the city. Right on the water, where you can also take nice walks with the dogs. You can use the restrooms at the thermal baths. The location is also good because there are lots of trees in the summer, and electricity is free. There are water and waste disposal facilities, but no restrooms. Wi-Fi is also free.
Sitecode: 107056
We arrived to find that the owner was hosting a children's birthday party. It's not really recommended as a regular campsite, because you drive up a hill only to find out you can't park there due to a birthday celebration. Plus, there are only three pitches. The location isn't ideal. You're basically parked on a grassy field, which can be quite nice, but you don't feel particularly welcome.

Absolutely beautiful here. Very friendly staff and everything is perfectly laid out. Swimming here was incredibly refreshing and the water is completely clean. It's all very natural and not a chemical-laden swimming pool. It's best to book online or call. Besides the restrooms, there's also a self-service shop. They even have a pizza vending machine.

This place is idyllic. We arrived quite late in the evening and the restaurant was unfortunately already closed. There are no other amenities on site. However, we were able to have cappuccino there in the morning and also bought some Prosecco.

Sitecode: 12950
The location is great, perfect for walks, and the view is lovely. It's also clean and not too noisy.
Sitecode: 5899
Very unfriendly. Barriers closed from 7:30 pm.

Sitecode: 160873
Beautiful place. The toilets and showers are new. Dinner was also excellent, and the chef was very motivated! The signage for campers isn't great, but we found it. The lady working at the sanitary facilities wasn't very friendly this morning. The only downside is the guest.
Sitecode: 20399
This place is very beautiful and quiet. However, you don't really feel welcome there. The prices are absolutely exorbitant. We also ate there. The food is simple and the wine is good, but we were the only guests, and you could tell they wanted us to leave quickly. Cycling isn't great there. You can go for walks, but the paths are quite limited.

Sitecode: 82031
This is our fourth time here. It's truly beautiful, and the area is lovely. It's great for families and dog owners. Cycling is also ideal here. We've done the wine tasting twice and recommended it to others, who were also very impressed.
Sitecode: 97232
A very nice little place. Very friendly winemakers, and the owner even offered a wine tasting upon request. We also bought four cases of wine and some canned sausage. They also had wonderful apples from their own orchard. We'll definitely be back! 😀
Sitecode: 3411
Not really nice. Not exactly recommended for walking dogs either. The dinner at the restaurant was uninspired. They didn't have any trout, only frozen pike-perch. The waitress just smiled when we paid. They could do so much more with it. The horses are beautiful and the girls there were very friendly.

We stayed here once before in the summer of 2025 for one night. It was full, of course, but pleasant. The restrooms are really not very inviting. Today, April 1st, 2026, we also stayed one night. It was very empty, and the restrooms had little to no light. Unfortunately, they weren't clean again. Payment is supposed to be in cash or via PayPal, but PayPal wasn't working. We spent €21. The website lists the price as €15, while the price on-site was €25.
Sitecode: 105478
Very nice place. There's also a "box" spot upstairs next to the inn under a plane tree. The landlady and staff are very friendly. The inn currently closes at 6:00 PM. There's also a refrigerator outside with wine, jams, etc. You can also have breakfast (order the day before) and 500g organic farmer's bread for €3.50. Also ideal with dogs 🐕
Sitecode: 28360
The location is beautiful. Right by the sea. The restrooms are quite a distance away on foot, but quickly accessible by bike. They are very modern and well-maintained. If necessary, there are outdoor showers near the beach and two portable toilets next to the beach bar. Piran is also a quick bike ride away. It's a very nice town. There's also a small supermarket near the reception. The lady there is unfortunately not very friendly. The positives outweigh the negatives.
Sitecode: 103167
The location is good. The sanitary conditions leave much to be desired. The greywater disposal is a joke, and there's no blackwater disposal. And it's simply overpriced for this kind of facility. We've seen better. Just charging because it's "Velden"?
Sitecode: 5787
There's electricity, and you just have to open the box (which looks like a trash can) and plug it in. It's quiet here, and you can take a lovely walk along the river into town. It's also ideal for dogs, although unfortunately, many people let their dogs do their business on the grass.
Sitecode: 100297
No one there anymore? Closed? We've tried several times to reach the owners by phone, but no one answers. The site is certainly not bad, just lacking shade. Unfortunately, we can't comment on the wine and food. We're now moving on to another spot.

Sitecode: 82031
This is our second time here in eight weeks. We recommended this beautiful place to others, and they gratefully accepted and confirmed that everything was just right. On our last visit, we participated in the wine tasting (highly recommended) and also bought a few things. Since we're traveling with two dogs, we always look forward to good walking trails. If you head towards the river, there are also places to swim.

Sitecode: 23761
Nice place to stay for the night. Friendly owners. Unfortunately, the restaurant was already closed.
Sitecode: 44863
Beautiful campsite right on the river, with everything you need including free Wi-Fi and a beach bar, perfect for a relaxing stopover or more!
