Ratings often have to do with the people who manage a place, don't they.. Rachel and Ben are so cheerful and welcoming, the place so clean and the showers so nice and hot, that they easily deserve the 5 stars. Then there's the Cliff Top Cafe after an short walk to the channel cliffs and the lovely views from there. What a great place to stay for a few days after the ferry ride from Calais (or vv). A truly lovely spot! I thoroughly enjoyed Geert's rightly famous fish stew as well as his hearty laugh; I had a wonderfully hot shower in the immaculate sanitary facilities and met some lovely people. Furthermore, all the water is safe to drink, and shops and restaurants are easily accessible on foot after the short, slightly steep initial section. Thank you so much for the wonderful time! Rosa

I stayed for nine nights because I enjoyed "Camping der Engel" so much. Joris is a wonderful host. He cleans the showers, collects the trash daily, and serves wine and beer during happy hour. Hot showers, clean toilets, cozy aperitif gatherings – and the town with its castle, monuments, bars, shops, and beautiful city park is only 2 km away – easily reachable by bike. Torre de la Peña, what a lovely site ! Before you know it, you feel so much at home you don't ever want to leave (I stayed 4 months). Watch the surfers, walk on the beach, have a nightly drink at the bar and eat at the restaurant or in town. Very friendly staff, from reception to minimarket to bar ! Nice, hot showers, very clean toilets. Easy bike ride into Tarifa: shops and restaurants ! Thank you all for a wonderful time ! You are great ! Rosa

A charming place! It was lovely at Cortijo San Miguel at the beginning of December! A flawless campsite with a very friendly owner, Marta. Level gravel pitches, Wi-Fi, perfectly hot showers, clean toilets. A washing machine and dryer are also available. The castle is easily accessible on foot, the supermarket is just around the corner, and there are restaurants in town. And the MACVAC art museum is definitely worth a visit! Addendum from early October: What a beautiful lagoon! I enjoyed it so much that I stayed three nights instead of just one – despite the chilly autumn nights. A friendly welcome, delicious food at the outdoor bar, a lovely pool, clean restrooms – everything was perfect! MERCI pour le plaisir!

September update: I really enjoyed my stay here! A friendly welcome from the owner (who apparently makes everything himself), a cozy spot, good bathroom facilities!, delicious Alsacienne pizza in the open-air restaurant (like a tarte flambée made with freshly made dough!), green surroundings with a pond – simply beautiful! The village within walking distance doesn't have much to offer, but the spot is highly recommended as a stopover! THANK YOU for your pleasure!

Update from September: I loved it here! A friendly welcome, close to the village, a great view of the Saône and its boat traffic, delicious pizza from the takeaway around the corner, clean restrooms—everything was there! THANK YOU!
