I found camping in the pine forest very pleasant. There are plenty of water fountains, trash cans, and recycling stations nearby. Only one road leads up and through the area, so there's always some traffic coming and going. There are plenty of restrooms and showers, and a very friendly reception! The restaurant and pools are pleasantly decorated. There's a good graywater disposal site.

Yes, the beach is incredibly large and accessible via two entrances. The distance to the water is about 15 minutes, a walk across the sand. It's worth parking near the new restrooms, even if it's a bit of a walk. Wi-Fi is only available in the restrooms (password required!), tap water is also only available in the restrooms, and the car park requires tokens, which is why, unfortunately, toilet cassettes are constantly being filled at the sink!
