Because of the rave reviews, we stopped here while traveling through. Unfortunately, it's now a construction site with trucks, excavators, and the like driving back and forth from 7:30 a.m. The municipality should have closed the place temporarily. So, avoid it for now! Once the construction is over, it'll probably be a nice place again.

This is a well-maintained campsite with a beautiful view of the Tarn valley and the surrounding mountains. The managers Annette and Hans give you a warm welcome and are there for you in case of a problem. Great that Hans was able to quickly and provisionally repair a defect in our camper with a lot of creativity! (In the meantime it has been permanently resolved.) Many thanks!

If you set the navigation system to the indicated address Rue des Écoles in Garat you really do not get to this service place. It is not located in Garat at all, but in Dirac, 7 km away. You can also spend the night there and it is listed separately as a motorhome pitch in Campercontact. This service place can therefore be removed. (All this not to be confused with Dignac which is a little further away where too is a motorhome with service.)

Not recommended. When we arrived, three of the four places were occupied by "permanent" residents with campers who had apparently made their last kilometers in the meantime. We were kicked out of the only free spot by those present, beer in hand. The resident of that place was out for dinner but would soon return to reclaim "his" place. We didn't stay, that goes without saying.

Please note: access from the village of Ouilly-le-Vicomte via the Rue de Eglise is not possible for motorhomes due to a maximum headroom of 2.40 metres. Access via D58.

Three level pitches for motorcaravans, adjoining a car park mainly used by walkers, cyclists and visitors to the café-restaurant with Biergarten in the former station building. Old track is now a walking/cycling path. Apart from "normal" ambient noise, quiet and also safe. No facilities except bins and benches.

A large stony plain. There is a tap. Beautiful walks to the Basque coast, marked trails. However, at night, even during the week, the site attracts anti-social figures who come to tear and spin with cars with a lot of noise. The noise started around midnight and lasted until 4am. For us reason to call it quits after one night. At the back where it is narrowest you will have the least trouble with it, but you will also hear it there.

We wanted to use this service point on 1-1-2023 due to an urgent need for drinking water. Tapping water on the road was always difficult, even in this warmest January ever. But at this service point everything seemed to work, no indication out of order, flush drain cassette toilet worked. So paid 2 euros with a bank card for 10 minutes of water, but not a drop. Money was of course debited. Complained on principle, no response so far.

Quite a nice place, were it not for the fact that around midnight a group of young people gathered on the spot and were busy shouting until 4 am, tearing cars over the gravel, throwing beer bottles and cans, with the engine running for an hour next to our camper, all this together with loud music, and bad too. A threatening experience. Wake up again at 7 o'clock by the church bell. Never again!

Very quiet place, no facilities but you don't always need them. Forest nearby for walking with the dog, for example. We did try the pizza machine and it produced a great pizza. In the village a shop with, among other things, bread. Nothing wrong with that, in short.

Small-scale nature campsite in a green, quiet and wooded area. The nearby village is great, picturesque cottages, an old wash house, tower and also the starting point for shorter or longer walks. The Dutch owners Eric and Iris are still busy building. The facilities that are already there are new, neat and clean. Bread service in high season.

Seems like a good place for one night, but beware! We had put our camper on the lawn. Later in the evening, after a walk in the area, a wedding party erupted on the other side of the hedge, with loud banging music. Furthermore, young people loitering who came to tear along the lawn with their car. We fled and spent the night at the school and mairie in a parking lot in a village 3 km away (Biarotte).

Good place to stay, basic facilities are fine. Short walks to castle and village. It is a pity that the landscape and the atmosphere of the old village and the castle are ruined by a forest of windmills.
