We give this 5 stars. While there are no amenities, we still find this an idyllic spot because: grass and trees, cows with tinkling bells, a church bell that still chimes every fifteen minutes, the sound of roosters crowing in the distance in the morning, and the swimming pool nearby. Plus, the sign at the entrance with a warm welcome. The five pitches fill up quickly, but the first night there were eight of us, and the second night eleven.

It's great that there are such campervan sites in Germany. With our campervan, we can go "off the grid," and in this case, it was free. Plenty of trash bins, one on the property and others nearby. Grifte has charming half-timbered houses and an impressive church tower. Rewe supermarket nearby. Living in a town where no trains run and the construction of a station has been a dream of many drivers for years, we enjoyed the sound of the train.

No matter how often we visit, we can always count on a warm welcome. The owner is a truly exceptional host, generous with salads and always makes time for a chat. Furthermore, the pitches are spacious, the bathrooms are excellent, and the surroundings are beautiful. Erve Velpen is by far our favorite campervan spot!

Five stars for this place because it is so beautifully situated on the Waal. Large boats sail back and forth. Indeed, no other facilities but with our van we can be ‘off the grid’ anywhere. Manager friendly on the phone and when paying. You can also check for a spot yourself: varik.nl and then look at the webcam. As for work and associated noise on the dike: we are not bothered by that very quickly but that is of course personal.

Where else can you find this: a beautiful camper spot with good facilities for only €12 per night?! We are fans! Beautiful cycling environment and Lutterzand is always a party.

Nice to stand behind each other, because of that we had a view of the Mosel. There is a Entsorgungspunt. For this place you need to have change at hand. Standing costs €5.00 and drinking water €0.10 per 5/6 liters. The device indicates that you get 8/10 liters for that but that seems wishful thinking. For €1.00 you can fill up with more water but we didn't need that. Supermarket within walking distance. Traffic noise never bothers us so it didn't here either.

Indeed, a great place to stay overnight and free too. We have stayed less for more money. Interesting to see who drives in and out of the parking lot (in terms of cars). You could write entire novels about this… We did not find the traffic noise disturbing and it was quiet at night. Only that one duck/goose, that keeps on chattering. Seems to us an extremely suitable candidate for Christmas 😉.

We were lucky, when we arrived here a friendly lady helped us through the check-in process. It was nice that we could choose our own spot because with high temperatures we like to stand under trees. The Mosel was not visible from that spot but hey, Man kann nicht alles haben. Around 8 o'clock someone drove onto the site honking loudly: it turned out to be the baker with delicious rolls. Sanitary facilities are further along at Tourist Info. Toilets are okay, showers less so.

Beautiful spot on the Mosel. Spacious pitches on gravel and decorated with trees or grapevines. We were standing as a small bus between giant campers and then the view is limited because beautiful spots on the Mosel are quickly full. Sanitary facilities are great. Village nice with many references to Roman times. Without electricity we paid €19.00. We personally thought bell jelly was not too bad.

Great spot on the Prüm. Our dog often took the initiative to swim. The reception was friendly and they took the trouble to find a shady spot because of the warm weather. We had plenty of space on the camper field. Sanitary facilities are clean and in good order. Even the toilet and sink are at children's height. Shower is free. The swimming pool belongs to Prüm but you can use it. The entrance fee for the swimming pool is a €10 deposit, so you get it back. €30/night for 2 people and a dog.

We regularly combine family visits and a visit to Lutterzand and Erve Velpen is the perfect location for this. And because we often arrive late, it is nice that Erve Velpen offers the option to reserve a spot. We greatly appreciate the warm welcome, the spacious pitches and the low rate. By far our favorite camper place. We hope to come back here often.

We would have liked to be at this camper place earlier, but all the places were always occupied. Luckily it worked last night. Warm and efficient welcome. Beautiful spot near the mill. Our camper van is very basic so personally I am happy with clean and working sanitary facilities and that is the case here. Road traffic: no problems. Excellent price for what is offered. We would love to come again!

So this is another undiscovered gem among camper sites. Beautifully sheltered between the trees and close to the Dwingelderveld. Nice small scale with 15 places in a circle. All amenities available. Clean sanitary facilities and lovely shower. And where else are you woken up by the rooster in the morning?! Drenthe at its best.

Were here from 26 to 27 July. The view was phenomenal because we were again in the most beautiful spot. No facilities, not even a waste bin. But because it was our fourth time here, we had everything in stock (food, water, etc.). This year there was still some snow nearby. Mountain marmots spotted. Sheep bells chime pleasantly. Quiet at night, during the day a coming and going of cars, cyclists, campers. Always buzzing here.

We were here from May 5-8, three nights. Spacious pitches, dogs welcome. This place is quite centrally located on Texel and if you have your bike with you, you can be in De Koog for the sunset or in Den Burg for shopping in no time. Fields nicely sheltered from the Texel wind. Personally, I really liked that there were refrigerators that you could use, because we do not have this facility in our camper van. We'll be happy to come back!

We like to come here; a beautiful place in a beautiful setting and facilities to your liking. We don't need electricity and at Erve Velpen you don't pay for it either. Read many previous reviews and surprised us about motor home owners who use five-star hotels criteria for a motorhome park. We appreciate the hospitality and no-nonsense attitude of this owner.

We arrived late at night and received a very warm welcome. The pitches are spacious, the sanitary facilities are fine and the site well lit. In addition, dog friendly, our Famke enjoyed the field behind the farm. In short, everything campers could wish for. We would therefore like to come back.

No facilities but fine and tidy grounds for one night. Indeed highway in the background but not really bothersome we found. Further playground. Enough grass for the dog. Parking machine easy to operate.

Sympathetic that a free place for campers has been realized here. It is quite spacious and very quiet. You are standing here at the dam, so there is always the sound of rushing water. There is something untidy about this place: the farmer has parked his tractor and there is a semicircular case, sort of a big party tent with disco on it. A very short drive further, at the lake of the dam is also a free parking lot. Apparently campers are also allowed there

Good parking space but not to stay overnight. See previous review. Many places are forbidden to spend the night on this pass. We drove on to the Albulapass, there we found a very nice place with a beautiful view. But there are more suitable places to stay there.

Only this app indicates that you can stand here, no special camper sign or the like. But there was already a camper when we got here and later another one was added so apparently it is allowed. No facilities but a nice place with trees (shade) and grass (nice for our dog). The church bells ring every fifteen minutes but otherwise very quiet, no traffic or exuberant youth. Also very special: free sleeping in FL.

Beautiful view, paved floor, illuminated terrain and wonderfully quiet. A nice place to stay overnight. We were here from 22 to 23 July. There was one other camper. No further facilities, but they do not need real motor home either. There was a stream with clear water where the dog could cool off.

Even if the 9 camper spots are occupied, there is still plenty of space in this spacious parking lot, provided you are not too big of course. The facilities are okay, a hundred liters of water for one euro is of course no money. Parking here is free, you are not allowed to stand there for more than 24 hours. parking attendants drive by. Church bells ring at 6.30 in the morning, otherwise it was very quiet here all night.

Tadaa! There we were again for a night at Erve Velpen (from 18 to 19 July). Curious if there was still room for us, especially given the review of Hymer 514. But that wasn't too bad: of the ten free places, two or three were reserved, so we had plenty of choice. According to the owner, it is only full at Pentecost (and Ascension), otherwise there is always room. Lutterzand within walking distance, my dear what more could you want?

Definitely worthy of five stars. Beautiful location at Lake Constance. Hospitable and proper welcome. We were allowed to choose from several spacious places under flowering apple trees. Even blocks are present to level the camper. Recommended!

Usually we are 'wild' or only one night. The fact that we stayed here for two nights says it all. Spacious pitches, super sanitary facilities, great location on the Aare and within walking distance of Bern. We paid €43 plus €1.50 for the shower (3 minutes). Everything well cared for and thought about. To be repeated.

Drove all the way there only to find the site closed until June 19th. Was marked as open on the site. Didn't look very appealing. Arosa is a place with a very special atmosphere. Lots of art, but also Eastern Bloc construction.

Hospitable owner who did his best to find a place for our camper. All facilities are in order with great attention to details: timer at the (free) shower, hot water button and plate rack at the dishwasher unit, etc. And all of this surrounded by colorful bulb fields. Recommended!

Indeed, idyllic spot with stunning views and you can swim in the lake. Hadn't read all the reviews so missed that there is no toilet anymore. If you buy something in the snack bar next to the closed hotel, you will receive the key to the mobile toilet. Were here in the night of August 14, and then many young people and/or motorcycle people were quite noisy until well over two o'clock in the morning. Then it became quiet. Ok for a stopover.

For location at Vierwaltstättersee (7 min walking distance) not expensive: CHF 26.50 without electricity and with CHF 31.00. You will receive a matching plug from the owner if necessary. We stood here from 12 to 13 Aug at 30 gr wonderfully under a tree. Showers are free. All facilities necessary for us are available. Lovely swim in the lake, swimming shoes recommended because of the stony bottom. Great place for a stopover.

Although this was only our second visit, it felt like coming home to Erve Velpen. Spacious camper pitches, good and clean sanitary facilities and within walking distance of Lutterzand. It is clear that the sympathetic owner has thought carefully about the facilities: modest outdoor lamp at every spot, covered bicycle shed, separate waste collection, and then also for a mere € 10.00. We felt really welcome again and will definitely be back.

If only all camper spots were like this! Lovely spot for our campervan. Spacious pitches, sanitary in order. Very accessible owner. Rules clearly, clearly and kindly worded. Very reasonable price, many camper pitches with less facilities are often a lot more expensive. Fantastic area for bike rides and walks and Lutterzand is within walking distance.

Stood from Saturday (24/8) to Sunday. Plenty of room when we came. Sanitary neat and super shower (endless hot water). Young people with beer left early in the evening, not bothered. A group of friends (?) Of campers (Flodder type) had a good time until late at night. Nice place in the center of the city. Debit card works, but requires some patience.
