A nice, no-nonsense campsite with sheltered and exposed pitches. My pitch overlooking the Dokkumer Ee is highly recommended. A dream spot for fishermen. Friendly managers with a focus on the customer and the environment. Cycling or walking in the surrounding area, for example along the Ee towards Dokkum or Leeuwarden, is beautiful. A nice stop for coffee, lunch, or dinner is taking the ferry across at Wijns to Eetcafé "De Winze". Dokkum has a beautiful city center (perfect for walking).

I spent a wonderful week on holiday at a lovely camper site near Haarlem and Amsterdam, and 1.5 km from Ikea and Spaarwoude Station. I still had some NS Choice Days and a Postcode Lottery prize of free entry. (Zoos, Hortus, and taking the Hoekseveer ferry to Portlandis.) Since my (muddy) visit in December, the camper site has been improved with gravel added to the paths. The pitches are beautifully situated. Lots of short-stay campers; I was an exception.

We spent a wonderful week on Rügen, and the overnight stays at "de Klomp" certainly contributed to that. The reception, service, and departure were excellently arranged. From the campsite, you can explore a great many destinations by bike. As mentioned earlier, the assistance is perfect; for example, if the bus doesn't show up, Sybren is sometimes willing to take you to Bergen station. It is called a camper site, but it is in no way inferior to a full-fledged campsite.
