Nice place to stop for an overnight stay. Several car parks around the reservoir. Either enter via the visitors centre and pay £10 or pay cash ( only ) at the car parks. Quite busy with walkers and fishermen but they were all gone by 8pm. Did start to arrive at 7am but a very peaceful and safe night. Good walking around the reservoir ( dogs on leads). Very friendly Northumbrian water wardens.

I really liked this free Aire, just off the A5(coming from the West its a super easy route) We arrived about 5 alongside 2 other vans,wandered into town. What a surprise ! A beautiful castle & Parador & lovely restaurants amongst small aging streets.The Aire itself had an area over wall full of junk but its nots rotting food & it didn’t put us off. Come back again?Yes to see more the town for free

We loved this Aire and it’s very friendly feel. Owner ( garage opposite, fill up there if you can) is very helpful. Everything including EHU ( Spanish connection) is free and you pay as you go for everything else. Which is very fair as they have provided just about everything( MH wash/ dog wash/ drying area) We also really liked Palencia the stroll In is delightful,through a shady park.
