Strange that this official camper site in the app has suddenly become a parking lot??? Upon inquiry with Campercontact, they could not provide an explanation for this. The official camper site at Slot Loevestein in Woudrichem (municipality of Zaltbommel) has also suddenly disappeared from the app.

Great spot, no loitering teenagers, no smell of urine. Quiet place with beautiful walking surroundings. Thank you, Municipality of Bornem.

Such spots can be counted on one hand in the Netherlands. Simply a fantastic, quiet, relaxed place to stay. Many thanks to the Municipality. This Municipality knows what a free camper is looking for and has not yet allowed itself to be influenced by Recron. The latter only takes good care of the commercial operators of campsites.

That you can stay there without any pressure, without rules, lines, barriers, passes, prohibition signs, and all that other nonsense you see in the Netherlands. We owe this nonsense mainly to Recron, which does not exist for independent campers but for the benefit of campsite operators.

Quiet spot. Very shady. The parking area is partially closed off by barriers. Access to the camper pitch is only via the driveway (near plot number 17).

What a luxury. The Netherlands (Recron) could learn a thing or two from this. Three pitches right by the river, two connections for free water and electricity, and should these three special camper spots be occupied in France, you can park anywhere (unless prohibited). In the Netherlands, you have to stick to the rules. Local ordinances, dashed lines, small barriers, apps, reservations, signs, etc. Camper drivers love freedom and not nonsensical rules. Thanks, Recron.
