I completely agree with Heinzi1! We experienced this exact same thing again with these so-called "campers." Everyone was parked nicely with a reasonable "respect" distance, but unfortunately, there was another half meter of space next to us, and this guy—with a trailer, no less—squeezed into the gap, practically on our dining table. Simply unbelievable! Especially in the off-season, you can drive further and you're sure to find something.

Many thanks to the municipality of Smögen for offering free parking and overnight stays outside of peak season! Unfortunately, there are always (in this case, German) people who park across the designated spaces and then bring out camping chairs and other equipment, using the parking area as a campsite or playground. It's precisely these types who are increasingly restricting such opportunities.

It's always been a very nice spot. Currently, it's completely occupied by caravans, laundry, etc., belonging to a French group of travelers. How can that be?

The site is now "managed" by WEMOLO under camera surveillance. It's written in extremely small print that entering the site constitutes a contract – a penalty of €45 will be charged for any stay longer than 5 minutes! Parking fee per day is €16, which means an overnight stay costs €32. Unbelievable, especially since the site was free until three weeks ago. Everyone should think about it for themselves.
