Quiet campsite behind the dunes with spacious unpaved pitches. Our campervan (3000 kg) got stuck in the sand. With a lot of effort and help from other campers, we managed to get out after an hour. Many pitches have such a sandy surface. A serious problem! If the owner paves the pitches, it will be a fine campsite; there is a supermarket nearby, within cycling distance. A good base for exploring Île-de-Ré by bike.

beautiful camper place in a nature reserve. Difficult to find, in the village of St-Julien-le-petit turn left before the post office, ‘aire naturel’ is indicated. After 100 m turn right, and after another 100 m the camper place. When we arrived there was no one, but electricity available, just connect. Sanitary facilities available, also hot water. Great view and absolute peace, and that for 4€ pp.

the most beautiful campsite we have had! Spacious spot with flat ground between tall old trees. Nice and helpful reception, and finally toilets and showers with closed doors (and not the standard plastic cabins without any privacy). Nice bar with nice terrace and swimming pool. Recommended for anyone who wants peace and space and is traveling to the Vendée or Spain.
