We drove into this campsite but weren't impressed, so we drove on to a better one. It's not a terrible spot; you can probably stay there fine for a night, but in our eyes, it looked somewhat run-down, and above all: if there are 4 or more other campers there, like when we passed by, you are parked right next to and on top of each other — the small hedges separating the pitches aren't worth much (anymore). In short: for us, really WAY too cramped/small.

Still a fine spot for an overnight stay while passing through, provided you are among the first five campers that can park directly by the grass field. This time there was only one other camper, so we had plenty of space. However, after this hot summer of 2026, the grass field has turned into a sad, barren yellow expanse (just like other grass fields, of course). You can sit on it, but mostly there is a lot of dry earth around you. Hopefully, it will recover later with rain.

Stayed here in Aug. 2024 as well while passing through, and PROVIDED you are self-sufficient, it remains a great spot. Again, plenty of spots, even if you only arrive at 10 pm. The tap at the toilet blocks still works — no hose to connect. What was new was that it turns out it can also be completely calm. And I forgot to mention: from as early as 7:00 am (at least on Sundays), athletes and hikers arrive by car, meaning noise. So park your bed at an outer edge of the parking lot.

The (much better) camper/long-term parking section of this rest area, which is reasonably far from the very busy highway, is located on the northeast side of that highway, so you can only reach it if you are driving from the southeast. If you are driving from the northwest, the same rest area is also located on the southwest side of the highway, but there you are parked right next to the highway and the noise and sight are overwhelming. So I would advise everyone against that half of the rest area.

Indeed, an excellent cleaning spot. And free, too. And you have plenty of space, which is always nice as well. So, practically ideal. With two curious but obviously non-essential shortcomings: the tap by the toilet/grey pit has no drain of its own, so it quickly becomes a puddle of water on the floor. (Dries up again in the sun.) The drinking water tap *does* have a drain?! And also strange: there are many separate waste bins, but not a single general waste bin next to them.

Great spot (provided you are self-sufficient) with, for a forest, still quite a bit of light. By the way, 6 campers could easily fit there instead of 4, or even 8 if necessary. (But I didn't check if a MAX of 4 was mentioned anywhere.) Note: the tap (which is not insulated, so likely shut off in winter) does NOT have a standard Gardena coupling, nor can you screw one on afterwards. But you CAN simply slide a standard hose onto it. (Indeed, awkward and silly!)

The fair lasted 1 week and is already gone. Great, very spacious free pitches, but indeed with clear noise from the road running along the bridge ramp next to them. However, if you are right by the water it isn't too bad, especially if you sleep with a bed on the waterside. Showers & even a washing machine (open with a credit card, costs 1 NOK/10 cents per use — the washing machine itself costs 30 NOK). Toilet cleaning at the boat jetty. Unfortunately no drinking water (only a 1/4-liter per press of a button).
