an amazing free campsite in the middle of the city. a vast area on the banks of the danube overlooking the castle and ships. the city is fun and more manageable than Prague.

went in September. nobody around people in adjacent hostel were friendy but denied all knowledge of the place or whether it was still open. I suggest a phone call might save this frustration

Delightful man on reception (slightly grand description ) spoke more English than I Slovak. v helpful. no charge. flat site. (it's an airport which gives a hint). water avilable by can. showers opened for us. not sure if the cafe/bar opens as nobody around.

Quite empty opposite a school running track and close to town centre. no facilities. but exactly what you would expect. good place.

not sure how reliable it is as I made a lengthy detour to this site down some very tortuous lanes ,lulled by its high review, only to find it was firmly shut. I think it is a private site and has not the same acess rules as the aires.
