We spent three nights at the site in mid-May and we liked it a lot. It was spartan, but everything you need was there. There's also a friendly boss who used to be a globetrotter and now runs the site and dinghy tours. Orlamünde train station is within walking distance. The only annoying thing is the noise from the trains, especially the freight trains. But it's bearable with earplugs. We'd be happy to go back.

We were here at the SP over Pentecost, we got the last free one. We really liked the place, for the current price of €25 you get a shower, electricity and water and waste disposal included, we think the price is fair. And the service at the mill is super friendly and you can eat great food in the mill tavern. From here you can go on great bike rides along the Ilm. You can hear the train, but it's OK. We'd be happy to go again.
