Excellent alternative to cheap parking lot down below. Prices start at €16 for two people. Includes water, chemical toilet disposal and grey water. Fresh water and power at each site. Pay for use internet available (orange wifi). Shaded spots, some with views over Gironde. And the grandest entry to a camper site I've ever seen, through the side citadel gate itself.

Great location near the water and citadel. It's a Mecca for Motorhome nomads with spaces filling up way before dusk. Busy in October. This place would be great if there was a service point, but alas how do you keep the parking turn over by providing water or emptying facilities :) great town to visit. Laundromat and bakery within walking distance.

Quiet, small, beautiful trees, birds, tranquility, owls at night. Spaces are not level so get the chocks out. Everything is free in exchange for some French banter with a local representative wanting originating and travel information for their "records". Poor 3G reception due to tall trees but the spot makes up for that. Bakery 49 metres away :)

Tight squeeze for over 7m campers. Free grey water and chemical toilet disposal, trash and normal toilet. Fresh water inoperative.. Beautiful spot with parking nearby.

If you need to stop for a few days, this place has everything. 30mins south of Barcelona. Serviced by bus directly or local train. Best campsite supermarket I've seen, great bread, extensive range of alcohol, and toilet chemicals! Shaded, very clean, great facilities, on pitch fresh water & grey water disposal (need 2-5m hose), chemical toilet depot close by. Asci off peak €20

Excellent quiet stop for a couple of days. There is some poorly maintained Lanier spooky facilities that can serve as chemical toilet dump. Fresh water tap is across the road, in poor state but works. Wouldn't use it for drinking water though. Beach was quiet at night. Close to water (< 200 m). Place has loads of cats which can be fun. Mysterious drumming can be heard in the distance at night..

Right in Matera which is well worth the visit. Amazing old town. Treat this as a self sufficient parking stopover for up to 24 hrs. There is a toilet but didn't investigate it. Level, undercover, lots of sun.

Serves as a good overnight stop. Bit of traffic noise. Fresh water didn't work (doesn't accept coins). Stole some from the marina taps. Can't vouch for potability. No electricity.

I think 9/10 is a bit over the top ratings wise. Tricky to find, over run with trucks, not worth hopping off the autostrada for it. There are plenty of less ambiguous services around on the autostrada. Admittedly the fresh water tap didn't look dodgy.

Quiet. Shaded. Self sufficient stop with hill top views of surrounding Umbria from the old town. No services here by there are services 5km away (water, black water) available at the bottom of the town near the autostrada toll gates. In the distance a dog barks..

Good grey and black water, wouldn't trust the fresh water.. Gave that a skip

Nice quiet inexpensive spot close to an otherwise difficult to access town (in a Motorhome). Surprised to find were trapped by a bollard when we left (to pay). Just pull it up to get out :)

Good stop in an interesting area. Simple olive tree lined dirt road with parkings each with power and fresh drinking water tap. Friendly host manually operates the boom gate to let you in. Local Supermarket, restaurant and beach within walking short distance. Slight traffic noise from road but not problematic. In the distance a dog barks...

Secluded spots, the best swimming off rocks or a quiet beach, beautiful views, (windy at night: gale force winds, but fun and safe). Lots of shady trees, lots of parking variety to suit all types of vehicle. Bar with food, plenty of water taps and clean facilities and fast unlimited internet. Just NO grey water disposal for which we miss the 10/10 rating

Beware the olive trees, for they are merciless with the Motorhome. The slopes are a challenge after a long day of driving, but the swimming is beautiful. Oh and NO grey water disposal, which is a shame.

Spacious quiet spot that catches the sea breezes. Can attract night visitors of the benign variety. Water taps are not working but grey water disposal is available. Lighting is dim which is good. In the distance, car alarms howl.. But hey it's Italy!

So is it €10 or €18? The boom gate dispenses a card for access. Pricey at €18 but very convenient to caves. Noisy traffic on weekends. Grey water requires a hose to feed a receptical about 1 foot off the ground. Never seen that before..

Expensive if you only need to camp. Not many alternative available.

Great stop with restaurant. All the water, electricity you need for a flat rate of €10 a day without visiting the restaurant. But if you do, facilities and parking is included. Convenient location to bus terminus. Trip into city centre is 20 mins. Extra treat: property has goats and pigs that share a pen. Makes for some entertainment. Kid friendly Very helpful host. Would visit again!

Lovely quiet stop on a Thursday night. Great for massive barge spotting. No facilities, nice level parking with plenty of mosquitos in summer.

You'll need some chock magic to get level at this site..

Busy but relatively quiet. Close to shipping channel with active barges in the morning. Possible to use waste facilities without stay. Cafe nearby. Hot showers and toilets are available for extra charges. Manned until 5pm then after hours access by pay machine.
Sitecode: 27495
Peaceful stop with lots of grass and nearby trees. Facilities include six parking slots, two picnic tables, subtle lighting, rubbish bins, pay for electricity (€1 for 6hrs) but no water or other facilities. On a very quiet road near a railroad which is not very noisy. Great for summer sunsets.

Great self sufficient stop. Perfect for barge spotting and late sunny position in summer.
