A lovely, small, and charming campsite: there's space for about 5-10 campers along the path with views of the river and the mountains. Along the river, there's plenty of grassy space for relaxing, but also for being active. Facilities include a ping-pong table, a volleyball court, and a sauna. It's also ideal for seeking adventure: the campsite is the starting point for rafting and moose tours, and canoe and kayak rentals are available.

Fristad campsite is Sweden's best-kept secret and should remain so. Anton & Kerstin run this campsite with great love. It's ideal for families looking for a pleasant atmosphere. The lake is magical. The sandwiches in the morning (order in advance) and the ice cream in the afternoon are delicious. If you're lucky, you might even experience a special concert or campfire dinner.

For us—self-sufficient alcove campers—this was one of the most beautiful campervan sites in Norway. Along the road, about a kilometer long, are a variety of campervan sites with views of the mountains, the reservoir, and the plateau. Several hiking trails start there. The Bakeri, 2.3 kilometers away (a paid campervan site, by the way), has fantastic sandwiches.
