Great place for a winter stay. We were lucky to get a pitch in mid-January for 6 nights as it is often fully booked during winter. Lovely welcome and orientation from Anne. She is VERY helpful. Million $ views, super clean bathrooms, kitchen, common room and drying room. The campsite is located a 5 min walk below Montchavin, which is a super quaint village. The gondola to Les Coches is free for hikers & free for skiers the first time they use it.

We stayed 3 night in early January 2022. WiFi a little sketchy but free! Showers, toilets, washing facilities are newish renovation, very clean and tidy. Toilet disposal is in first cubicle on left as you enter. Free water. Restaurant but you have to book. On check-in we were give free bus ticket which we used to go to Les Houches and also Chamonix. Only negative is the park only gets sun for about 1/2 an hour in mid-afternoon so park is cold!

We parked here on a snowing Sunday afternoon. Early Monday morning they cleaned the carpark of snow. We left Wednesday afternoon. Despite the official carpark website saying campers were banned in winter, no one bothered us. No electricity, no other services and toilets were locked but very handy to Chamonix. if you want to go to Le Brevent ski field, walk across road to Chamonix Sud and catch Bus No: 14.

in winter it is not possible to use the clean water supply, as the snow plow only cleans the access road to the service station. (see posted photo)
