Surrounded by the beautiful nature of Twente, the third edition of the International Piano Festival Twente will take place. Visitors can enjoy the very best piano concerts at beautiful sites. The concerts are held in the artistic town of Ootmarsum and surrounding locations, such as the Stift in Weerselo and the Singraven Estate. This year, new venues have been added, including the Rijksmuseum Twenthe in Enschede and the Hofkerk in Oldenzaal.

On 12 September 2024, the official start of the national celebration of 80 years of freedom will take place in Mesch in Limburg. This village was the first in the Netherlands to be liberated by allied US troops on 12 September 1944. The ceremony, attended by King Willem-Alexander and Queen Máxima, marks the beginning of a jubilee year in which the liberation of the Netherlands will be commemorated and celebrated. The jubilee will be highlighted by various events and commemorations throughout the country, focusing on the liberation, the victims of World War II and 80 years of freedom.
