Campercontact annual overview 2020

The freedom and independence of going on holiday in a motorhome appeals, especially at a time when lockdowns dominate life. At Campercontact we see the numbers go up each year: users, visitor numbers, reviews, new locations, et cetera. To illustrate about the corona year 2020:

  • The number of registered Campercontact users increased by more than 30% this year.
  • Many users share reviews, photos, new locations and change requests with the platform: 17%.
  • Even though it was a strange year, the number of locations increased by 10%.
  • Germany received the most new locations (18%), followed by the Netherlands and France (both 15%). Interesting mention among all 'classics' is Norway (almost 5%).
  • In this corona year, June was the busiest month in terms of new reviews. For photos, that was July.
  • Users submit the most change requests when it comes to price & period, whether you have to pay for the toilet / washing & drying / shower.
  • Only 3% of all change requests are not approved by our moderators. Campercontact users are usually right!

Completely rebuilt of the Campercontact Platform

In order to be of optimal service to all those users in the future as well, Campercontact has been completely renewed. The app, the website and all systems around it. Every element within the platform has been redeveloped. User research was essential to determine the right accents. And what has been redeveloped? For example:

  • The rapid search of locations by thousands of people simultaneously in different languages.
  • Easy-to-use addition of locations (now even with a summary before submission, see image), reviews and photos
  • The offline mode, in which you can access motorhome location information even without internet.
  • The moderation systems for the locations, reviews and photos that users share
  • Enhanced service functionalities: searchable FAQs and versatile feedback forms
  • Icons, illustrations, system messages
  • The best systems to monitor the performance of the entire platform in real time and even predict imperfections

Summary before sending in a new location

An unprecedented operation in which the most went well, but unfortunately we also had to deal with teething troubles. With the help of amongst others user feedback, we have now solved almost all 'issues' and are now in the phase of further development and adding new functionalities.

Update 15 december

With the latest app update of 15 December, a number of much-needed functionalities have been added. For example, you can now view the map in the app in satellite mode. In this way you can see exactly how a location is located.

Many users indicated that they would like to see the feedback form in Dutch. It is now available. In the app and on the website. As well as a German version. Based on this feedback, we have also made a number of small improvements. And so we are fully prepared for the new year.

Continue building in 2021

In the new year we will make Campercontact even more complete and user-friendly. All with the aim of optimally facilitating your motorhome enthusiasm. The first updates are already in the making and new plans are taking shape. What do you have to think about then?

  • For example, logging in on the website.
  • So you can write reviews or register locations there as well.
  • And with a PRO-account you can also use advanced filtering.
  • In the app we optimise the offline mode, among other things.
  • We also want to give you more overview and control over your contributions.

By the way, you can now participate in a short user survey via the app and our website, which helps us to make the right choices. To do this, use the option Send feedback in the menu op the app or click on the green Feedback button on the right side of the website.
