GPX for motorhome routes: this is how it works

By using GPX files, you can follow motorhome routes that take you past the most beautiful roads and places of interest. It takes the stress out of navigating so you can enjoy the journey.

What do you need?

To use a GPX file, you need:

• Smartphone
• or navigation device

GPX apps for smartphones

There are several GPX apps available such as GPX Viewer and Routes (Android only). These make it easy to load your GPX files and follow your route.

Working method GPX on smartphone

If you want to use a GPX file on your smartphone, follow these steps:

1. Make sure you have an app installed that allows you to open the file.
2. Click on the link to download the file with.
3. A menu opens asking in which app you want to open the file. Click the desired app.
4. Don't see a menu? Then open the desired app manually. Then open the GPX file.
5. Now you see the detailed route line.
6. Depending on the app, you can now navigate the route.

Working method GPX on navigation device

If you want to use the GPX file with a navigation device, do the following:

1. Download the file in the Campercontact app and email the file to yourself so you can save it on your laptop.
2. Now that the GPX file is on your laptop, connect your navigation device and copy the GPX file to the appropriate folder.
3. Open your navigation device, search for the GPX file and start the route. The device will now show you the way.
