Camping Mokambo

We had to choose between a shady spot or more than 3A of electricity. The bathroom facilities are very old. Coin-operated showers are always a hassle. Excursions to Etna can be booked from the campsite; you'll be picked up there. We cycled to Taormina, first along the beach to the train station, then further uphill along a narrow mountain road by bus, which was easily doable.

Great campsite in a fantastic location! Close to the beach, within cycling distance (electric) of Taormina and the Alcantara Gorges. The sanitary facilities are dated, but they are cleaned several times a day! The reception is helpful and friendly. The restaurant has an authentic atmosphere and delicious meals, and even a bread service! Absolutely fantastic!

Wonderful, peaceful spot with a stunning view of Etna! We stayed for 4 nights. Friendly people, a lovely restaurant with delicious food at a good price, dated but very clean restrooms, and the beach is right across the street. Lovely beach! We took the Etna tour they offer, and they picked us up from the campsite. Definitely worth it! And don't forget a visit to Taormina. Highly recommended!
