Camping Almócita-Alpujarra

In early March 2026, after a five-day stay in the desert near Tabernas, we took a chance on a higher altitude, the mountains. The campsite is located at an altitude of almost 800 meters. But the forecast was accurate, and we have no regrets. Excellent sanitary facilities, a stunning view of the white town of Padules, I believe. Wonderful in the sun.

Beautiful terraced campsite with good, clean sanitary facilities and a bar. The owner is hospitable. The access road from the main road via Padules is quite long (not possible via Almocita). The campsite is situated on a ridge (so it can get quite windy) with views of the Sierra Gador, Padules, and beyond that, the Tabernas Desert. Beautiful hiking trails in the area.

We stayed for two nights, had a phone call beforehand, and were told to pick a nice spot. We succeeded; beautiful pitches, clean restrooms, and several things under construction. Truly progressive.
