Top spot, wonderfully quiet and fantastically beautiful surroundings. beautiful walks to and possibly around the lake.

Nice and quiet. Parking now £4 unless a national trust member, when it's free. Summer daytime warden. Road from Moffat not great, especially as regular timber lorries.

Spent a night here in July 2023. Great location. Quiet location. Garbage cans available. Parking fee 3 pounds. We recommend the walk along the waterfalls to a mountain lake, about 2 hours up and down.
