Arrived on a dark and rainy Thursday evening in late November, the last thing I expected to find was an English mobile fish and chip van in the village square! Run by a jolly Anglophile Frenchman, couldn't resist even though we were on our way home. Only one other van in the aire, lovely spot.

We didn't stay overnight but spent that on the headland 4km northwest. This is a good spot to do some shopping, there is also a self service launderette in the supermarket. Nice walk through the park and around the lake to the beach. Fantastic coastal footpath to the east, just like home (Cornwall).

The campsite appeared closed in early November so we parked overnight in the large car park at the nearby visitor centre, it was very quiet. Toilets 200m across the road and stream were open and clean. Lovely drive along a small road all the way south to Soajo, ok in 7.4m van.

Service point only, drive over waste and a single tap for wc and fresh water. Right next to the fire station on north bound side of quiet dual carriageway in an industrial area, you will have to reverse in from carriageway or reverse out.

Mid November and we have just spent 2 nights at the aquarium car park in the bus bays, last night with 4 other campers and tonight alone. Only 2 coaches arrived today and there are 15 bus bays. The car park at the lighthouse was almost full and there was only one camper each night. The sound of the huge waves completely drowned out road traffic noise but there were a few late night cars.

Small patch of land in front of an apartment block. We parked here for the afternoon but spent the night 500m east in the beach car park outside the campsite which had closed in mid October. Nice area, coast road to the west is a lovely cruise.

Don't plan on staying here, much nicer stop at Lindoso 10km west in Portugal. Service point is handy though as there arent many around here. As mentioned, it is down below the sports building, sloping and a bit difficult for a large motorhome to reverse over. Manhole cover had to be lifted, I had a key. Single tap.

Nice car park, we parked in a bus bay in November. Excellent hiking, 1h15 to top of hill opposite for a fit hiker, got lost on the way down! 10m to town. Road to Spain ok but if you meet anything bigger than a car in the last 10km someone will have to reverse.

The area is sloping and both entrances have a steep kerb. It can also be accessed via the road to the fort. We slept in the car park above for €1, the attendant spoke good English and told us it was ok. A few metres beyond turn left into a large car park hidden in the moat. The fort is fabulous, the size of Carcasonne and full of shops and restaurants. Immense fortifications but not so quaint.
