Campingplatz Schausten

Once and never again. Small, untidy campsite, poorly maintained. Sanitary facilities are outdated, like everything else there. Small pitches, with gravel and soil where grass once grew. No gray water disposal. A small drain is provided right next to the terrace; it's impossible to use it without knocking over tables. An expensive campsite with zero comfort. If you want to visit Cochem, there's a long parking lot next to the Mosel with a day ticket.

We stayed there for two nights with our motorhome and parked next to the cassette waste disposal station. Otherwise, the site has become dated, and there's only one shower.

I'm afraid it was full and we were given a sort of "extra" spot. We had to climb a very steep hill and couldn't really turn around with our 7.50-meter campervan. If your campervan is longer than 6 meters, definitely don't go up there. We had a lot of trouble getting back out of the campsite. So, for us, it was a bad campsite and we didn't stay. The woman was very nice indeed.
