Hi Karel. What a thoughtless review. Yes, we are British. Yes, we get many British campers who visit us year after year. They come for many reasons, but one major reason is because they know that if they have a problem, we can help, as we also speak French. How is your French? Fluent, I guess? Like your Dutch campsite owners, attracting Dutch speakers, we attract fellow native English speakers. I've visited Dutch owned campsites in France. Full of Dutch. Have I complained? No. Because it's natural. It's a good job we don't feel the same about the Dutch, as you do about the British! As for our newly refurbished shower block, it is an old barn. We're limited here, on a 16th century farm, as to what we're allowed to build. As for 'plastic', are you serious? It's composed mainly of wood. What little 'plastic' there is, is PVC, which helps keep the sanitations clean. Maybe you need spectacles? You should check out the specifications for sanitary requirements for french campsites. Two showers, two toilets and three wash basins is more than is actually required for just 10 emplacements. Why don't you try reading things before you fire off a half baked 'review'? Like the prices we charge. They're on this very website for all to see. You wanted an EHU. I provided you with an extension cable to your non-conforming, plastic bag shrouded, dangerous hook up cable. You didn't need to have the electricity, you chose to have it. I'm sure you're aware of the costs of electricity, gas and water just now? Included in that 30€ you paid for the only pitch available in the middle of August were a heated swimming pool, a bar/restaurant. A kitchen where you have free use of a gas cooker, microwave, hot water for washing up, an oven and a hob. Then there's the play area (but you were alone). That you chose not to use any of these things, but just complain, was your choice. These things all cost money, we're not a charity. We're a business. You don't like it, then yes, you're right - drive on. Just a few hundred yards from us is another British owned campsite, with fewer facilities. They charge more than we do! You told us you came from Saumur, where every site was packed. You found a site with a pitch, but still managed to complain. That's the thing with many of you camping caristes. You simply dion't like paying for amenities. You much prefer to holiday parked on an expanse of featureless concrete, closely packed in with your neighbours because it's free! Oh, and where does all the green grass go during an unprecedented spell of hot weather? It dies. Don't worry, it will grow back. It always does. You're right. There's plenty of shade in the forest. Just as you had from the trees here on site. But please, stay out of our forests. It's forbidden just now. Because it's been so dry and hot, it's causing not just the grass to die, it's causing wild fires too. Take care, and stay safe from all the forest fires en route back to Holland.
