Árnes camping

Excellent camping, sanitary facilities are fine, just too few, like almost everywhere in Iceland, but otherwise it is okay, power supply is also okay, payment and registration in the restaurant, no gray water drainage, the fields are okay.

From Arnes you can go to Landmannalaugar, rhyolite mountains and beautiful walks. Follow 32, 26, the 2 signs Mannnalaugar, F208 off road 26 km. We, without a 4x4, do well in dry weather. Until 1st P before the river, belongs to the campsite. 2500Kr pp. including hot spring. Trip and place highly recommended. Go early the P for the river fills up fast!

simple campsite. sanitary in container, clean. showers in an old dilapidated building, but warm and free. close by is gas station and shop. information center permanently closed. also a swimming pool next to the campsite. good base to explore the area.
