The site is well-organised and safe. Staff are friendly, helpful and regularly available either at reception or in buggies around the campsite so any problems can be quickly resolved. Facilities are good and everything is cleaned and bins emptied, daily. We stayed here for 2 weeks and found it quiet at night and well-placed for cycling and hiking.
Sitecode: 1311
We've stayed here a few times on the way to or from Calais. It seems a bit shabby now, but it's free. Once the tractors had stopped labouring up the hill behind us, the teenagers on their noisy motorbikes and the dog barking at them had finished (about 11pm)it was quiet till 7am, when the traffic started again. There were no bins either.
Sitecode: 3466
We parked here to visit the beautiful little town, well worth it by the way, but were not prepared to pay 10€ for- nothing! It's a carpark. We've paid less than that for a spot with power! We found somewhere else to spend the night for no charge.
Sitecode: 1470
Very popular, and therefore quite crowded, with nowhere for sitting outside had the weather permitted. However, it is free, flat and quiet at night. The town is lovely, do check out the secondhand shop, its clothes prices are cheap and the chateau is very interesting.
Sitecode: 59225
Just as everyone else has commented. A spacious green aire with hiking available nearby. Yes there is a railway line but it didn't keep us awake. We went into town, ready to shop locally and show our gratitude but both the boulangerie and the epicerie were closed. We stayed one night.
Sitecode: 28771
It gets 4 stars because it's quiet and handy for the town centre but it has seen better days. The municipality are in the process of improving it and there are holes dug all over the aire, but at the moment it's a little shabby. One of the barriers was broken when we arrived, so we had to go through the exit and at some point on our second day, that barrier was smashed by someone!
Sitecode: 1578
Returning after 3 years, we thought that this place had got a bit noisier - although it was quiet enough during the night. Still plenty of pitches so you can choose sun or shade. It was busy enough while we were there. for one night The international centre for the study of prehistory is well worth a visit. We spent our 2€ to fill up with water as we left. Walked to Grotte du Sourcier to discover it is closed due to a lack of personnel!!
Sitecode: 1134
Very popular(19 motorhomes squeezed in while we were there!), quiet and very handy to explore the lovely town. The only gripe is that you have to buy a card (from the Spar) to use the rubbish bins, recycling remains free. This had led to at least two lots of rubbish being left on the ground. Other services are all free. We couldn't believe how such a crowded aire could be so silent at night, but it was.
Sitecode: 1959
Quiet, level pitches and free to stay. It's a tight turn to get in or out with a 7.5m motorhome! Within walking/cycling distance of Auvillar which we thoroughly recommend. We stayed here for two nights - be aware the bells for mass at the nearby church were rung at 7 am!
Sitecode: 25491
Limited facilities( electricity wasn't on, there didn't appear to be drinking water) , but 3 shady pitches under the trees. We found that the barrier further up, was open, so we parked ( with 3 other motorhomes) in the municipal campsite which was closed, it being the end if the season. This gave us an unrivalled view of the light show as it played on the chateau after dark. Beware of mosquitoes which were voracious!
Sitecode: 67498
In fact they deserve 6 stars! This is our favourite camping site ever. Laundry is done, on request (ask at reception), bread is delivered each morning, facilities are modern and spotlessly clean, the hosts are indefatigable, multi-lingual, polite and helpful all day long. The site is rural, but not too far from everything. The nearby village of Gondrin has a superb small supermarket. Booking essential, see the amazing website for more details.
Sitecode: 19063
The town is amazing and well worth a visit. If you go nowhere else at least visit the cathedral with its incredible choir stalls. The aire is well laid out with hedges to mark pitches and electricity is included in the price. The ticket machine takes a little while to understand, there are spaces either side so you can park up and take your time without blocking the barrier for motorhomes wishing to leave before their tickets run out!!
Sitecode: 88183
The town is lovely with a great vibe, it's well worth a visit. The aire was very busy and felt crowded. The facilities are a 5 minute drive away at the Intermarché. There is a toilet and shower but we didn't see it being cleaned and it was very well-used. We stayed one night.
Sitecode: 3979
We parked opposite the facilities in the field, to get some shade from the trees lining the road. In the evening we moved to the hedge side to get away from the road. The road was noisy with speeding vehicles. Water, drainage and emptying facilities over the road. Aubeterre a picturesque village particularly the underground church.
Sitecode: 47309
Shady pitches under the trees, clean, modern shower and toilet block, helpful receptionist ( who spoke English), laundry facilities (pay at reception), within easy walking/cycling of Cognac town centre along the river path. Some road noise from the bridge but not too obtrusive.
Sitecode: 1684
Incredibly quiet overnight, free electricity (look at the back of the concrete with the taps), free water, grey waste drainage - what's not to like? The downside is, once you've visited the very interesting museum and walked to the village to look at the goat cheese factory there isn't a huge amount to do. We stayed one afternoon and a night, in that time there were 3 other visitors to the museum.
Sitecode: 28771
9 if you don't get a hook-up! Limited hook-ups for free electricity (8) down the right hand side and on the shed building as you drive in. Free water at grey waste drain on the inside of the barrier(tap on shed building). Muddy in the rain but the ground seems quite hard. Quiet at night. Lovely mediæval French town centre.
Sitecode: 1578
Lots of choice of spaces and although chocks are needed, still level-ish. Very picturesque village, with mostly restaurants and souvenir shops, but also a boulangerie ,boucherie and launderette (at the garage). Our payment was collected in the evening, or you can pay at the tourist information. Very quiet at night, despite the railway line right next to it. The noisiest things were the owls!
Sitecode: 1938
Quiet, free, with free water and toilet cassette emptying(no grey water). The spaces are sloping and we found chocks necessary. Within easy walking distance of the mediæval town. What's not to like?
Sitecode: 28501
If you want to stop a short stroll to a fine old town, perfectly proportioned to see in a few hours, then you can do no better. Bit of a car park feel but blissfully quiet overnight. Access to service point and parking is free from Oct to Apr.
Sitecode: 1888
Beautiful town with magnificent views, within walking distance. Parked under the trees, sunny and level (ish). Grey water and toilet cassette emptying free, electricity and water extra, we didn't bother. Tranquil aire at night but there's some kind of depot nearby which meant fairly regular toing and froing of trucks and vans.
Sitecode: 1933
Lovely aire and amazing village within( steep) walking distance. Free unless you stay overnight. The services were cordoned off and not working which we thought made this an expensive carpark for an overnight stop. We moved on to the car park for the caves at Pech Merl - no facilities but free!
Sitecode: 13400
Free, all facilities available (except electricity), peaceful and well laid out. We shared it with one other motorhome our first night and five the second. The town is old with a faded charm and worth the uphill climb to explore and admire the views. We've paid much more for far less!
Sitecode: 71786
I'm not sure what rate we were charged(looking at the tarrif below) as it cost 37 euros for 2 nights. The shower block was partially locked while we were the sole campers & no hot water. However, the owner was friendly and helpful. The site is tranquil and perfect for exploring the area. You park among the trees . There aren't really any views till you leave the site, but they are spectacular.
Sitecode: 21036
Generous provision of camping car facilities from what is clearly not a wealthy town. Free water, toilet dump and grey water. Aude runs behind the off street places, plenty of choice. Some local traffic but generally quiet. 8 mile there and back walk to Rennes le Chateau is good.
Sitecode: 2516
Level tarmac aire. Facilities available for a fee, which we chose not to use (water appeared to be free) and a toilet block. Walking distance of the interesting town, but we could find few shops nearby which were not closed down. A loud thunderstorm and heavy rain cut short our exploration. Quiet at night (apart from storm!). Traffic seemed to start early with trucks tooting as they passed.
Sitecode: 13909
Very busy. We got the last space on the grass, quiet and spacious. It being a Sunday, the shops were closed and the Super U was closed Monday morning too. Still a lovely spot.
Sitecode: 832
Popular site when we stayed. Very handy for the town and shops. Some road noise during the day but very peaceful at night. Make sure you have the coins for the machine. We asked for them in our change at Lidl!!
Sitecode: 724
Spacious and leafy pitches. Swimming pool was being refurbished so the carpark was quiet. School was closed for the summer, so also quiet. Absolutely fine for an overnight stop as has no facilities. If you can read German it tells you where sani services are.
Sitecode: 644
Free on a Sunday but also cars parked in motorhome spaces. Very busy with nearby road noise. We didn't fancy it overnight and moved on
Sitecode: 643
Absolutely packed on a Sunday lunchtime. Cars everywhere. We had to move on.
Sitecode: 65970
An unusual set up (see other comments) and not a scenic farmyard, although v neat piles of usual farm detritus! However, cannot fault the enthusiastic welcome. Using my phrasebook German, his limited English and, where necessary, mime we were able to understand each other. All the facilities needed for motorhomes and v quiet at night.
Sitecode: 18424
Ideal location, helpful & friendly host, amazing facilities. There's a hair dryer thoughtfully next to a mirror, a covered patio with lovely furniture to use and a covered outside sink for washing up. Good cycle route/path to both Odder (great flea market here) and Århus (the ARoS) both places worth a visit. Only 3 spaces so don't dilly dally!
Sitecode: 14472
The only thing stopping us giving this a 10 is lack of grey water and cassette emptying facilities. Otherwise: perfect multi-,lingual hosts; idyllic surroundings; convenient for charming Viborg. We liked it all so much we stayed 2 nights. It was full both nights.
Sitecode: 9920
A peaceful and for us ( on the piece of grass opposite the Fiskehus and next to the house) private spot. We were without power as we didn't need it. For power you park in the grassed and fenced compound and pay extra. We were right next to the fjord. Perfect. Additional facilities available for extra pay. Usual disposal and filling. We loved it.
Sitecode: 14480
Peaceful and pretty camping spot. A haven after the busy ferry port and clearly signposted from the road. Water, power and dumping all included. Money put in the box and a bonus toilet and shower across the courtyard marked WC on the door. Lovely walk to the beach is highly recommended and described in the information box. A superb Spar just a cycle ride away in Tversted. Good enough for 2 nights.
Sitecode: 57308
Cheap (water and electricity included in 30 Nok price). Very handy for walking/cycling round Skien. At night be prepared for town noises. We were disturbed by loud music, loud passers by and a horn tooting in the early hours. On the plus side, traffic noises from the road were not an issue!
Sitecode: 67404
Ooops!Wrote this under wrong place. Large gravel car park . Watch for dust blowing across and where your door is. Lots of lorry noise overnight from main road, behind lake. Midnight swimmers also woke us. Handy for museum, otherwise not sure we'd have bothered. There is another carpark over the road, near waterfalls and toilets. Still, it is free.
Sitecode: 49629
Large, level, gravel car park. At night, lots of lorry noise from main road beyond trees and midnight swimmers. Wind blew dust storms across the carpark, so check wind direction and where your door is. Handy for the museum otherwise we wouldn't have stopped here.
Sitecode: 24076
Quiet, level-ish and cheap. High rating for a peaceful night's sleep with our 4 fellow campers. Treated to a motor cycle tuition session and a street sweeper removing the central puddle over breakfast! Can't guarantee they'll always lay on entertainment though.
Sitecode: 57392
Bit of a free for all on sloping and sodden grass. Young woman at information polite, but not too bothered. Electricity is extra and not included - we were charged 180 Nok without power which was different to the prices on the price list on display. Very busy, so queues for facilities. Washing machine and drier a bonus. Traffic audible but the sound of the river masked it at night. Great views!
Sitecode: 10263
Arrive early or bunfight for places. Facilities ok, we have motorhomes with them in, after all. Lovely town. Two really quiet nights then, Saturday night was bonkers: a loud party in the street above and at midnight 2 campers +8 loud Lithuanians emptying their catering rubbish into the bins. Police arrived then went. Disturbance continued, so not a good end to our stay. I presume it's not regular!
Sitecode: 11111
A useful chemical toilet disposal place ( next to the toilet), rubbish disposal, easy access to the petroglyphs, and 2 signposted lovely walks through the woods. Our low rating reflects the (surprising) road noise through the night and the driver who leaned on their horn 3 times at around midnight!
Sitecode: 19169
NB:90/ 270 Nok to cross the bridge and the same to go on the road around the fjord! We got caught!
Sitecode: 64036
New and clean provision at a reasonable price, should have been perfect. For us it was the noise from the elevated road to the bridge which interrupted our night. Not busy but intermittent which seemed worse( we were in Trondheim before so used to road noise). Btw, if your camper is more than 3.5 t like ours, the bridge toll is 270 Nok. We went the long way to Ålesund!!
Sitecode: 63426
Plenty of space, level and an easy walk to the city centre. Get there early if you want a power hook-up and allow time to queue as you leave, for disposal services. Surprisingly quiet at night, so we stayed 2 nights.
Sitecode: 24072
If you like gravel carparks on exposed mountain plateaux, this is the place for you. No facilities but no mosquitos either. Plenty of space, wind and rain. We stayed the night.
Sitecode: 18969
After filling and emptying at the rastplatz we crossed the river to find ourselves an idyllic spot beside the raging, and very noisy, river. We loved it but hated the mosquitos of which there were loads. It was a lovely spot for a night stopover and we couldn't hear the road above the sound of the rapids!
Sitecode: 44664
Amazingly friendly owner. Clean facilities, which seemed perfectly adequate despite the place being full for Midsummer. Quiet too. 2 washing machines and tumble dryers at 25 sek run on an honesty basis. He hosted a celebration on Midsummer's Eve for all the campers, providing music, cake and coffee. An easy cycle ride from Vilhelmina and overlooking a lake. We paid 250 sek without power .
Sitecode: 18743
Beautiful lakeside setting. Feels very safe. However, the main road is close and not as quiet as some reviewers have suggested. 80 kph trucks are not silent when they are less than 50 metres away! Well used though. Why motorhomers think early morning music is necessary remains a mystery. Oh and park away from the whoosh-bangs!
Sitecode: 20928
Lovely and very popular location by a lakeside. Chemical toilet disposal available and altho busy, quiet at night. Spectacular scenery.
Sitecode: 42141
If you enjoy epic Lofoten scenery, wildlife, fishing and the Hurtigruten passing, far from the tourist merry go round, then this is the site for you! A reasonable 150 Nok gets you a spot on this rough-around-the-edges site alongside the Trollfjord. Lashings of hot water, a free shower and toilets all cleaned daily. Power is available for extra payment. What are you waiting for?! We stayed 5 nights
Sitecode: 45112
The high rating is for the amazing view, beaches, peace and clearly visible midnight sun. Facilities were inadequate for the number of campers . We paid 260 Nok to park in a field, but what a field! Wouldn't bother going if it was raining.
Sitecode: 43388
Clean, modern facilities, included in price. Overflow (without hook up 335 Nok) a bit of a free for all on rough ground, in contrast to neatly organised pitches. Quiet, unless there's a football game. Very convenient for city, either walking, cycling or bus. Reception very helpful and friendly. Washing machines outrageously expensive (100 Nok) we opted not to use them.
Sitecode: 30165
Can't fault the amazing location, nor the reasonable charge (170 Nok without hookup),but when it's full it is far from peaceful. We parked near the harbour on one of the few marked pitches. Facilities clean but very old and totally inadequate for the number of campers, best to use your own. We didn't find grey water discharge and as reception is only open for 2 hrs all day, we left it.
Sitecode: 11897
Amazing view across the fjord, toilet(very clean) and rubbish bin. The start of a challenging path to the glacier(we only got 1.5 miles along it) and silent at night.
Sitecode: 20913
Patient and helpful reception/ owner. Facilities we used were good : washing machine and drying cupboard. Reasonable pitch sizes (we were on the riverbank)and power available for extra charge (only 4 sockets for 6 pitches). LPG available in Alta and cycle path to Rock Carving museum runs near site.
Sitecode: 43024
The very bumpy road is worth persevering along, very slowly. Perfect parking for hiking paths. Quiet, apart from the roar of the river and waterfalls! Dry toilet and rubbish bins provided. Try the Gorsabrua trail- if you dare!!
Sitecode: 55570
Level. Quiet. Lovely view over fjord on waters edge. No facilities but felt safe.
Sitecode: 20920
Campsite overlooking Karasjok. The showers were hot, the washing machines new and the one working tumble drier was very efficient. Chemical toilets can be emptied on site and tap water taken on, but grey water needs to be emptied up the road at the motorhome service. Walking distance of town. The highlight was the campfire in the Same tent
Sitecode: 11187
A delightful stopover, minutes from IKEA!! Power, toilets, fully equipped kitchen and showers included. Washing and sauna available for small extra cost. All done using self-registration and honesty box approach Site managers appeared to live on site in their own motorhomes. They were both very helpful and welcoming . Peace and quiet through the night.
Sitecode: 14616
Such a small place, but such a big welcome! We paid 200 sek and had electricity, water, kitchen and toilets in the service building, rubbish bins, toilet and grey water discharge in the carpark (and next to space number 6). Washing machine, drying cupboard and showers available for a small extra charge (10 - 20 sek). Views across to the island. Peaceful and safe.
Sitecode: 51860
At this time of year this camp site is peaceful with reduced facilities. The showers and toilets we had access to in the family camping area, were superb. Kitchen area was also open. Payment is by card only at the Reception (open 9:30 to 10:30) with a very helpful English speaking staff member. Amazing views across the bay, hiking trails around the High Coast.
Sitecode: 24537
A quiet and level carpark which is a pleasant stroll away from the wharf at the lakeside. No facilities, but very handy for the Dala horse factory. This is free to enter and worth a visit. Purchase of a painted wooden horse is optional, I couldn't resist once I'd seen them being painted. Maybe you'll be stronger!!
Sitecode: 69086
Up a steep winding road above the town then along a single track. We saw 3 caravans that seem permanently parked & 5 or so pitches with covered power units. We decided it wasn't for us but we were greeted politely by a woman who told us we were welcome to stay if we wished. We thought for 150 kr it looked run down.
Sitecode: 57406
Amazing place to recharge . We parked at Bordet ( it makes sense once you get here) by the lake beach. Payment is cash only in the barn as you come in. No power hook ups but who cares? We had a camp fire each night, rowed in the little boat, seam
Sitecode: 14526
Well placed for visiting the town. Astonishingly quiet at night. Payment at the machine by the Service building gives you access to: electricity, laundry, toilets, showers and a sauna. All for 180 kr! If nothing else, visit the Marine Museum. It's free and really interesting.
Sitecode: 25430
Very convenient for exploring the city by bike or train. Spacious camping spots, although it must fill up in the summer. Helpful staff at reception and clean showers (included) and toilets. Laundry extra but plentiful hot water for hand washing. Also has a gym! Electricity is extra (30 kr) per day.
Sitecode: 18426
Amazing views across the fjord and very handy for Kolding and the Trapholt museum. Showers, laundry and electricity all accessed by payment via a harbour card ( purchased at the vending machine by the harbour office). Water and disposal included in price (160 kr per night). Very quiet at night, but it is a working harbour and they start early! Very helpful and friendly harbour office.
Sitecode: 9236
Helpful , English speaking receptionist and level pitches. Facilities: showers, toilet and power included in price (160 kr) . Water and emptying also available - free. Quiet with minimal traffic noise in night. Perfect for walk/ cycle into charming Ribe. Well-stocked shop on site but appeared to be predominantly for the anglers .
Sitecode: 23856
Idyllic. Free meadow parking near a spotless heated toilet block. Enjoy the royal sheep.
Sitecode: 8659
As good as it gets for a town centre aire. Very efficient payment system. Top tip. If there is a red light showing on your electric hookup plug then there is free electric left over from previous camper.
Sitecode: 2643
A quiet and reasonably priced aire, with electrical hook-up included in the price. Money is collected in the evening. There appeared to be a toilet block, but it was locked. Usual disposal facilities and free water. Convenient for the town and the shops.
Sitecode: 229
Very handy for the lovely town. Pay machines can be confusing (make sure you select the right language!!) and fierce competition for spaces and electrical hook-up on the 2 nights we were there. Second night marred by youths playing load music and vehicles accelerating past in the night. In the end, it is a car park!
Sitecode: 18633
Quiet and peaceful and very convenient(15 mins cycle ride) for the Kröller-Müeller museum and the park. Good facilities in a heated shower block. Friendly and helpful owner.
Sitecode: 6607
Free parking in a large, flat field overlooking the Gent Canal. Very convenient for the town. Quiet, except for the constant passage of large vessels on the water, which we found interesting rather than annoying. It is much quieter than rail or road traffic. No facilities, but did I mention it is free?
Sitecode: 13909
A lovely, quiet and safe aire. Convenient for exploring the interesting town with shops. A Super U within easy walking distance with washing machines and tumble drier. We parked on hardstanding but in the Summer the grass area with hedges looked attractive. Definitely want to come back .
Sitecode: 54705
Safe, level and within walking distance of La Rochelle city centre. Unavoidable traffic noise at peak times. Lots of cycle routes. Payment by card at the barrier. A great base for exploring the area.
Sitecode: 1461
I liked it. Huge area with very few motorhomes in March enabling easy parking head on to the wind. Very windy but also remote so ZERO road noise. There is a rubbish bin. No other facilities.
Sitecode: 25461
Despite an indoor shooting range a stones throw away, this is a tranquil location. Pleasant walk around a lake. Felt very safe.
Sitecode: 5864
Bit of a nothing town, with a castle. Expected to pay 6 euro to park in a car park. Not for us. There were picnic tables though!
Sitecode: 52266
Roll up. Roll up. Free water. Free electric. Close to ritzy town, Carrefour supermarket ten minute walk. Level tarmac, generous bays. Free at the moment (March). Quiet at night, safe. Not overly picturesque but then you don't have random cars driving by at all hours!
Sitecode: 21677
Lovely (especially if you can get one of the dedicated spaces). Peaceful and free! One of our favourite stopovers. Town is interesting with a great selection of shops.
Sitecode: 29390
Safe (gates close at 8 pm), quiet (once coaches & cars gone) and level. No facilities-except bins- but then, no charge either. Limited to one night stay. Even at the end of October Monet's gardens were magnificent and worth a visit, as is the nearby village. Please note: you can buy artwork but not a baguette here!
Sitecode: 14598
Yes the parking is sardine-like and you can hear cars in the carpark behind. But it is in a prime location for visiting the town. It was filled beyond capacity when we visited. After a quiet night, it was a bird singing in a shrub behind us which woke us in the morning. Do visit the chateau(at the top of the 200 steps just across the road).
Sitecode: 15365
A peaceful spot to spend a rainlashed night(on the hardstanding, naturally). No church bells to wake us, although a cockerel crowed enthusiastically at dawn. No services working so we can't rate the water and discharge. In the morning we were on our way.
Sitecode: 23422
With the holiday camp closed for the season this was a very peaceful aire. We enjoyed exploring the area (Gluges is lovely) walking to Martell along the chemin botanique and along the banks of the Dordogne. The toilets were closed but we'd prepared with water, food and discharging before coming as we'd read it's isolated and indeed there are no shops nearby. You will regrette rien coming here!!
Sitecode: 14723
It is the only thing free at Rocamadour! However it is level, plentiful and quiet at night. Very convenient for the whole Rocamadour experience and worth a visit.
Sitecode: 46365
Yes, those bells! Not a pleasant peal either. A bit confusing about where to park(the field further down and not the first car park by the toilets and sani station). As a bonus we were parked amongst walnut trees with ripe walnuts falling off. Otherwise it is free and up until 7am is pretty quiet. We cycled and walked. We liked it here. Also handy for the shops.
Sitecode: 24518
Electricity and water included in the 6 euro charge(payable only if you stay the night).Quiet, safe, pretty and very convenient for exploring the town and visiting Lascaux 4. We liked it so much we stayed 2 nights.
Sitecode: 11752
Given it's position in the town centre, it's astonishingly quiet. The old town itself is well-worth a visit in daytime and evening. The spaces are generously proportioned so there is plenty of room in this popular aire, even when busy.
Sitecode: 28771
Quiet (apart from the owl at night, birdsong and the sound of the Dronne going by), pretty-if you like autumnal trees, well - trimmed grass and shrubs breaking up the level parking spaces- and very convenient for the picturesque old town. We happily endorse it.
Sitecode: 2533
Quiet, with no road noise all night, and very convenient for the Memorial. Very popular and full by 5 pm. Overlooks the stadium so there were sports activities and spotlights, although not disturbing the peace. Sani station and most importantly- free!
Sitecode: 22224
A carpark rather than designated for motorhomes. Quiet except at start and end of school day. Lovely village, helpful tourist information and handy for Voie Verte. Public toilets and sani station. Free.
Sitecode: 21677
Small but well located. Early April and mostly full even at lunchtime. Best spots are further away from large car park which is a coach dropping off point. Worth it for the gorgeous town. Be sure to do the ramparts and marvel at the French attitude to health and safety.😀
Sitecode: 11402
Get there early. Early April and the place was rammed. Not helped by locals parking their cars in the motorhome spaces, I think deliberately. Other than that it was a quiet location, only noise coming from another camper with a generator! That will endear us to the locals!
Sitecode: 15119
Upon first arrival it is just a car park for a tennis club, with a section for motorhomes. 15 minute walk to main town, but the tiny village is just as sweet. Surprisingly quiet with only one other camper (early April). Free water. An excellent spot.
Sitecode: 14575
On first arrival you are met with a huge car park next to a road. However, the road is pretty quiet even during the day and at night we heard nothing. Short walk into town to walk in the beautiful forest. Huelgoat in early April was blissfully quiet.
Sitecode: 1169
An interesting and historic town. The Aire is well-spaced and clean. Our stay,on a Saturday, was marred by a car full of youths trying to do handbrake turns in front of our motorhome and playing loud music and in the night people shouting as they crossed the carpark in front of us were disturbing.
Sitecode: 1198
Stayed early April. Excellent location up the hill from town. Close to cliff walks and standing stones. Plenty of empty generous spaces. Quiet with zero road noise. Felt so good we stayed two nights.
Sitecode: 12691
Quiet and peaceful this is a perfect little stopover. The nearby shop is convenient and the owner friendly. When we stayed it was very popular too, filling up quickly.
Sitecode: 13774
Stayed early April. Basically a large car park in a small village. Zero road noise. Very peaceful night. One other camper.
Sitecode: 59724
Nice quiet pub. Car park at the rear is well set back from the road. Peaceful night. Very friendly owners.
Sitecode: 22374
Nice place to relax for a few days. Good walking and cycling.
Sitecode: 28283
Ok for a casual visit to the beach and stroll along the promenade. Would be constantly noisy overnight from any passing traffic as the road is only a few metres away. Right opposite a Brocante shop that was shut while we were there.
Sitecode: 14007
No facilities. No shop. Bit of a drag to haul a big motorhome up the hill. This is the finest place we have ever spent a night! Views to die for. As tranquil a place you could wish. Ok, the odd motorbike dashes up the hill for a selfish, but who wouldn't?

We stayed in August 2015. Superb site inside the vineyard with one night free electric. Quiet and safe. Ability to safely cycle into Colmar itself. I guess the idea is that you buy some of their wine! I would suggest you arrive early.

We walked up to the rock from a nearby village and the car park does indeed have camping car signs. All the camping cars were actually parked up on the grass to the side of the carpark and jolly nice it all looked.

Not sure I would want to sleep over but a large car park with plenty of space for even the largest rig. Town itself is pleasant enough and you can dump your grey waste as a thank you. But to be able to safely park in the centre of a town for free is something we Brits can only dream about.

If you are ok with lining up like soldiers in a row in a car park then this is actually an ok stopover. If you are a war tourist then bonus as there is a museum within grenade throwing distance. No cost if you arrive after 6pm and leave by 8am. Masses of space for just the overnight part, but no doubt the carpark will get busy in the day. Town is a short walk away rammed with eateries.

Typical campsite. Well organised and of a moderate size. Clean modern facilities and all at a decent price. The joy is the location close to the centre of the lovely town. Lots to do and see to keep you there for a day.

The site is super. Old campsite next to a lake. Lots of level gravel pitches but plenty of extra grass ones. Village itself is polarised between wealthy modern houses close by and an older village nearby that has seen better times.

Great stopover. Loads of space. Great cycle ride into Bernay along disused railway. Gate locked at night.

Quiet, safe pitches. Ten minute walk from village that has a few shops and a zoo if you feel so inclined.
